Will Terry Labonte finish his career in the 5 car?

The #5 and #25 are the R&D cars of Hendricks? That's what everybody seems to think.......Is Jimmy Spencer R&D for Merlin? How about Skinner...... several years ago at RCR with Dale SR? Skinner never won a WC points race. Or Newman with the #2? Mayfield for the #9 Elliott car? IMHO, its a about performance and its also a vicious circle........The #5 and #25 have to show solid, consistent, good finishes for the sponsors they already have, in order to ask for more money from them. However, they can't command the high priced personnel and get the good finishes if they don't get the money to pay for it.

The #24 is a proven winner....4 WC champeenships and 58 wins in only 9 years of racing has the team getting rewarded by their sponsor with a ludicrous amount of money.

Hey Kat! Driving the 21 Wood car....IMO, Rudd's move is prolly a lateral move. I believe that Rudd showed his hand way too soon and got the short end of the stick. I think that Rudd was posturing for more money and when he threw in the yearly contract demand.....that sealed his fate. As we can all see, he signed with the Wood Bros for 3 years. Sadler will prolly get more at RYR, but nothing like DJ is getting.....The #88 got a very lucrative deal from UPS. I often wondered WHY Rudd would leave RYR....I'm prolly wrong but the only thing that I can think of is that is was tired of playing second banana to DJ.

I wonder who the R&D cars are at Roush? It used to be that people would say it was the 16 and 97. Well, the 16 disbanded, but the #97 is right in the thick of it every weekend.
