I think Thunderbird is kinda sorta white, ain't it? About the same shade as paint thinnner maybe?
Hang on there girl, I just caught this thread. I am an avid wine drinker, but my tastes run only in the reds, so that's all that I can recommend. Now keep in mind that while I do love the reds, I've gotta stick within my budget and as such, I have to go with those wines that run fairly cheap. However, you can find many good to great wines that run under $15 a bottle.Originally posted by muggle not@Oct 21 2004, 10:18 PM
hmmmm, for the most part I can see that this is not a crowd that enjoys a good glass of wine with a fine dinner.![]()
I agree. White Zinfandel. I'm not much on wine but this one is decent. Warms your blood.Originally posted by kat2220@Oct 21 2004, 01:46 PM
In addition to what Maj and TRL said, a nice White Zinfandel (which is really pink) is a good all-around choice. Even Glenellen, which is not expensive, is a tasty treat.
The "Alice White" is not from Argentina. It is a Shiraz from Australia and is very inexpensive but very good for the money.Originally posted by muggle not@Oct 22 2004, 09:15 PM
nascarwoman.....The reds from Australia are very good and I do enjoy them. Last spring I bought a case of the Marque DeCacere (spelling) Rioja from Spain and it was excellent.
buckaroo......Who you calling a woman. My avator is of the girl that drove for us in the Trans Am series in season 2000.
The Walnut Crest Merlot is very good and I have had it frequently.
Try some of the reds from Argentina. They are very good. There is a "Malbec" wine from both Alamos and Alice White (Argentina)I have enjoyed and both are inexpensive.
Columbia Crest (Washington St.) makes a very good Syrah.
As long as you enjoy...that is what it is all about.Originally posted by peyton shea@Oct 23 2004, 03:33 PM
Just my 2 cents .... I love wine coolers.
I know ya'll not talking about them but they sure are good.
Thanks !!!!!![]()
Sorry dude, I won't make that mistake again. Glad that you corrected yourself with the Alice White wines. They have been advertising quite a bit here in NC of late. I'll have to give them a shot. As for Argentina wines, same there. As I said, I prefer something that I can afford and luckily for me, there are plenty of cheap wines that are good. One more wine that I forgot about and is from the US is Guenoc out of the Napa Valley. Their cab is terrific. I was introduced to this line about 12 years ago when I was living in Iowa and when I moved down south here to NC, I couldn't find it. I made inquiries even to the headquarters of the wine and was told that certain stores here in my area carried it. Not so. However, about a week ago, I checked into a new wine store and viola, I found my long lost wine, but now they have two different varieties. Both are good and I'd recommend either.Originally posted by muggle not@Oct 23 2004, 04:36 PM
