With Sprint's exit from the sport.....

I would be surprised if any wireless carriers are involved in nascar in 2017.

I wonder if any mention will be made to this being Sprint's final race, so far, the talking heads havent been talking much about it this year.

I sure do miss Winston. I'd go to the Martinsville race with non-smokers and come home with four cartons of cigarettes and plenty of free dip. Did that many times. I bet phone companies don't give out free minutes.

Too addicting for the younger crowd.

What I don't get is .... smoking tobacco is sooooooo terrible that you can't even let them advertise or sponsor sporting events .... but dozens of states just held a vote on making cannabis ok. That's not going to encourage smoking?
Tobacco basically built this country(and NASCAR). My neighbor was a tobacco farmer and one tough SOB. He did however, die of a nasty, tobacco related heart attack. If I die of smoking, I'm not gonna blame the companies(I'll be dead!), because I knew the risks, and I took them....but you self righteous buttholes can kiss my patoot.

I had to make a clarification post. I wasn't talking about you Professur. I understood your post. I was just commenting on the haters detriments.

I stand with you 100 percent........:D

I don't smoke pot, don't like pot, can't stand 'pot culture' or potheads. But if you're actually interested in the answer, the facts are that statistically marijuana deaths are close to zero. Cigarette smoking kills 480,000 Americans per year, more than all other legal and illegal drugs combined, plus homicides, plus lots of other notable causes of death you can throw in. I know we've been through this before and some people just don't care what the facts are because somebody's grandpa was a tobacco farmer, but there it is. *shakes head*

I think the best chance of another wireless carrier getting involved in the near future would be Verizon on a Penske car in some form.

AT&T was unhappy with not being allowed to appear on the #31 car after they acquired Cingular, and there were lawsuits. The relationship with NASCAR would be...strained. They also own Cricket.

T-Mobile's target demographics are not a good fit for NASCAR.

What is the target demo?

I hate to see them leave. I had finally just gotten to the point where I wasn’t always getting Sprint cup cars confused with Sprint cars :)

What is the target demo?

They skew younger and target large urban core markets where their network coverage is strongest. If you looked at a map of areas that have the largest share of T-Mobile users and areas with the largest share of NASCAR fans, there wouldn't be much overlap.

Interesting , thanks

AT&T also owns DIRECTV and Time Warner. And NASCAR has their deal with Xfinity. No chance AT&T ever rejoins the sport IMO.

Here I am again, not know which one is aimed at my 'lifestyle'.

Seriously, carriers have target demographics? I mean, besides Jitterbug? I must be misinterpreting their ads, because they give me the impression they're after anybody who will sign a contract.

Maybe T-Mobile can create a rotary cell phone for us old folk and then they'll fit right in with NASCAR? I bet texting's gonna be a bi!ch though. :D

'Texting'? That's one of them new-fangled things you kids do with your ePhonys and the like, right? Does it have something to do with that 'Poking Mom' game?

My cell phone. It's just that. I have a desktop computer for computing. It's easy to see one reason that I don't really care about texting. :D
