WNBA 2025

Caitlin Clark, a night of skirmishes, and a WNBA product out of control.............................

I hate to see this type of crap. It belongs in the WWE for those fans, not in the WNBA.

Aari McDonald update:

Golden State signed Bree Hall.

Chicago hasn’t made a move at guard yet.

Los Angeles signed Grace Berger.

We might be getting Aari back!!!!

This page of the thread doesn’t have any Sophie pics yet.

Indiana has got to, at all costs, get Kate Martin. If for no other reason than to keep her off opposing teams. She knows Caitlin's game too well.

The comments and blatant racism being directed toward Caitlin Clark (being dubbed “Little Bo Peep”) and her fans (being dubbed the KKK) on the WNBA page are disgusting.

I think I’ve about had enough of this trash league.

There's a full page article in our newspaper today about the bad officiating. I'm not a basketball fan but have tuned in a few times just to see what it looks like. I see a lot of travelling, carrying the ball, etc. but I think the NBA has gotten like that too. Lot of fake eyelashes; not sure how that improves their game. With this sport becoming so popular I understand the need for improved officiating.

I'm a huge hockey fan and watch quite a bit of the women's hockey and it seems like their refs do a good job.

Las Vegas' head coach says the physicality in the league and the targeting of Caitlin Clark has gotten out of control.

It's no longer just Clark fans and the Fever franchise saying it.

Another poor performance from Caitlin and another loss.

This “dream season” is quickly unraveling.

It’s gonna come down to Las Vegas, New York and Minnesota.

NBA basketball is so far ahead of the WNBA. I don't know how anyone can stand watching full wnba games. It's not high level basketball.

These West Coast road trips are tough. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get handled on Tuesday night in Seattle as well. 10pm tip Indiana time and they’ve already wilted in the fourth quarter of both games this trip.

They have a high ceiling and an equally low floor. I’ve been surprised at how inconsistent they are right now.

The W is a subjective form of entertainment, just like any other sports league or form of racing. It's not for everyone, and those who watch do so for different reasons and get different things out of it. There's no right or wrong, just whatever you happen to enjoy as a fan.

Say what you will about these ladies, but they got me back into basketball. The physicality is next-level. Sometimes the refs let it go too far, and that's on them as much as it's on the players. Either way, it's not soft like the NBA was when I gave up on it 10-15 years ago (to be fair, I have no idea what the NBA is like today).

I almost watch like a coach now, not in terms of knowledge per se, but in that I don't need to see every single shot going in, as long as everyone's touching the ball and it was a good look. I don't even necessarily need you to be an elite talent or an elite squad. Just show me some heart. Play some D. Hustle. Do the dirty work. Talk a little trash, but show me some good sportsmanship, too. All of that is here, for <$40/year, for now. Sign me up.

While Chicago lost again, Angel Reese continues to play at a very high level. She starting to pass more when she gets a rebound which is leading to more points.

She recorded an astonishing 19 rebounds yesterday to add another double double.

IMO, at this moment, she has surpassed Caitlin Clark in the MVP race. Though A’ja Wilson will be MVP again and should, she’s the best player in the league and will likely remain that for a decade.

You and I have about as much a chance at winning MVP this year as Reese does. It’s Napheesa Collier alone in the MVP race right now.

Neither Clark or Reese are in the discussion.

But Reese is outplaying Clark right now. Two very piss poor games from CC.
I think you really overrate the importance of volume rebounding stats.

As bad as Clark was yesterday, she still was a more efficient shooter than Reese and had ten assists. Neither of them have been good, or anywhere close to good, the past few days.

But I would take Paige Bueckers over both. She’s gonna be the greatest ever.
I’m seeing the F1 movie Friday night but will watch the recording of that night’s first Fever/Wings matchup afterwards. I’m pretty stoked to see Clark and Bueckers go head-to-head again. I can only imagine how good Paige will be once she has a good supporting cast.

Caitlin Clark is a lot more exciting.

Paige Bueckers is going to be the greatest of all time.

Time will tell. they are both great players. Caitlin also still has a lot of growing to do and will continue to improve. I have never seen a better passer than Caitlin and she will only get better.

Honestly, I wonder if this thing where most of the players in the WNBA hate her and actively try to hurt her is getting to her.

Round 1 of voting complete. I mostly went with favorites today rather than just picking who I think are the absolute ten best players. CC will have to wait until tomorrow. I'll probably do a third ballot for my All-Hustle First Team, too.

I cast my second ballot today and skewed it more towards who I left off yesterday that I think is good vs. who my favorites are. CC made the cut.

As someone who loves a bunch of the swingwomen who play both SG and SF, I hate the way they split up the guards and forwards for this. They pretty much just lumped all the swingwomen in with the rest of the guards, and then they gave two extra voting spots for forwards, spots that said swingwomen can't be selected for. That makes no sense to me.

There are players like Kah Copper and Rhyne Howard who I would have picked instead of all these bigs, but there wasn't any room for them. Oh well. It is what it is.
