Might as well start a new thread for the new season.

Especially now that @Mr. Gregory has joined the church and the debates from last year can be left there.

Lexie back in the office.

Azzi Fudd returning to UCONN for another season.

I definitely didn't get that notification, but I was thinking it was about time for a new thread. Really looking forward to this upcoming season after all the crazy offseason moves and trades. The long wait is almost over! ^_^

Can’t wait to see Caitlin, Kelsey, Aayliah, DeWanna, Spicy Sophie 🌶️ 🥵 and Lexie 🔥 ball out.

I meant to post this when it happened and forgot - Olivia Miles, who was expected to be the #2 pick, isn't declaring for the draft and is entering the transfer portal instead.

Also, Elena Delle Donne has announced her retirement.

Transfer portal and money have ruined college sports. I mean, I've seen a lot of trash talk about Aayliah Boston lately, from people forgetting that she's younger than Paige Bueckers who is still a student athlete.

I'm for these players getting paid in college. There have to be some caps though.

I hate to see anybody walk away from a Notre Dame education.
For sure, but it sounds like that locker room really fell apart down the stretch run of the season, and that it isn’t much of a coincidence Hannah Hidalgo will be one of the very few returning players at ND next year.

A lot of mock drafts have Hailey Van Lith going to the Sparks.

If that happens, they've got three reasons to watch: Cameron Brink🥵, Kelsey Plum🔥, and HVL🔥.
Rickea Jackson is a cutie pie, too.

In all seriousness, on paper, knowing nothing about how Hailey plays but seeing that she plays point guard, she'd actually be a good fit for the Sparks.

This is a lengthy but excellent piece about Harvard's Harmoni Turner. She can hoop, and she comes across as a delightful young lady who has been through some things in life. Her story hits pretty close to home for me.

I really hope she ends up on a WNBA team. I'll be rooting for her for sure.

The draft is tonight - it begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, and coverage starts at 7 on ESPN. With a bunch of players having opted not to participate this year, we know Paige will go #1 to Dallas, but beyond that...🤷‍♂️

Here's the first round order:

1) Dallas Wings
2) Seattle Storm
3 & 4) Washington Mystics
5) Golden State Valkyries
6) Washington Mystics
7 & 8) Connecticut Sun
9) LA Sparks
10 & 11) Chicago Sky
12) Dallas Wings

Excellent spot for Washington to be in with all those early picks. Connecticut's right behind them with #7 and #8, their best ever draft position.

Minnesota just traded this year's first round pick (#11) for Chicago's 2026 first round pick, and Vegas forefited their first round pick due to the Dearica Hamby investigation. The second and third rounds each have 13 picks.

Chicago Sky Turns Into a Laughing Stock After Making Latest WNBA Trade Decisions With Minnesota Lynx

On paper, in a vacuum, I think the Minnesota/Chicago trade is probably a wash. It's way, way too early to call since we have no idea who will ultimately be drafted by both teams and how they will work out.

Before the trade, Minnesota already pretty much owned Chicago's 2026 first-round draft pick in question (via the trade that ultimately gave Chicago Angel Reese last year). To get Chicago's aforementioned 2026 first-round pick, Minnesota would have had to swap their 2026 first-round pick with Chicago. Minnesota likely would have done this, given that their pick is likely to be later in the order than Chicago's.

So, the trade essentially just gives Chicago Minnesota's late first-round pick a year early, a pick that Minnesota didn't need. I'm guessing Chicago has someone they're looking at this year who they think will be available around that spot, but I obviously have no idea.

I keep forgetting Indiana doesn't pick in the first round.

Not that the Fever need to with Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Dewanna Bonner, Aayliah Boston, Natasha Howard, Sydney Colson, Spicy Sophie and Lexie Hull.

I like the Hailey Van Lith pick for Chicago. I was a little surprised that the Sparks didn't take her, but now she gets to learn under Sloot, one of the all-time great PGs.

I'm stoked for the Mystics and the Sun. I can't believe Aneesah Morrow went that deep. She and Tina Charles should be fun to watch up front in Connecticut. Maybe Marina will want to stay. :lol2:

I can't watch all the games, so I have no idea which teams I'll be following this year beyond Minnesota and Indiana. All I know is, I'm excited! ^_^

I know I, and 86% of the fanbase, be rooting for Indiana. 😇

I'm so hyped right now, and we still have another few weeks until the season starts. After this offseason and draft, on paper, there are at least 4 or 5 additonal teams I'm interested in watching along with Minnesota and Indiana - Washington, LA, Golden State, Chicago, Connecticut, and I'm definitely gonna have to peek in on my girl Tash in New York, at a minimum when they play Phoenix.

I watch The W like it's my job, and I already have a full-time job. I only comfortably have room to watch three teams. Decisions, decisions! 😬

My night has been made. Harmoni was selected by the Las Vegas Olympic Team! ^_^

I probably won't see much of Katie Lou Samuelson in Seattle since I can't handle that Dick Fain guy on commentary, LOL, but I'll get to see her older sister Karlie in Minnesota! Let's go! ^_^
