There is ARCA. Those who lament the evolution of 1980's era Busch Grand National series into today's Xfinity Series should be buying tickets and tuning in to the broadcasts for ARCA races.

No Cup drivers, no Cup teams, a mix of young drivers and series lifers, all racing with modest budgets. A few companion races with Nascar cup events, but many stand-alone events including short tracks, big tracks, dirt tracks, and road courses.

Seriously, I'd like to ask... If you are not supporting ARCA now, why should Nascar listen when you ask them to do the same thing with Xfinity?

I think the TV contracts leave a lot to be desired, and there certainly aren't many ads promoting ARCA. If more ARCA races were televised, I would certainly watch.

I absolutely loved ASA back in the '90s and watched every race. Had I been old enough, I would have attended many races too. ASA was fantastic for about a decade.

I think the K&N series is pretty good, but much like ARCA, it's hard to find all the races on TV. And I still think the Truck Series is great. The only racing series that I find boring is Xfinity, which is a shame because I loved BGN back in the day.

Not watching xfinity races any more. Tired of watching big money teams come in and screw over the regulars. 5 or 6 of the top dozen yesterday were cup drivers, they pushed smaller, struggling teams further down the list to get finishing order payouts.
THey also take away the chance of a regular moving forward with a win in their chase. Screwem

All the Cuppers in Xfinity hate gets to take a couple weeks off with Talladega and Martinsville being the next two race weekends. I don't think any Cupper in his right mind will infiltrate the Truck Series this weekend. Certainly could be wrong though. Martinsville will be a different story for the trucks. Probably will see plenty there. Xfinity will not be back till November.

Even though I don't like cuppers in X it could turn out to be something worthwhile from a fan development standpoint seeing 12 and under are going to be admitted for free into X races next year. I really like that idea and wish they would extend the free tickets for any student through college and I would not scrutinize the college ID really closely if you catch my drift. If the youngsters see people like Shrub and Yap Yap running well on Saturday it could lead into them watching on Sunday or maybe even attending.

I know how maddening it can be to be a loyal customer or season ticket holder and pay full boat while the guy in the next seat paid penny on the dollars or your neighbor has twice the TV programming for half the cost. Even though Nascar has gone in a direction I am not comfortable with I don't want it to fail or die a slow death as I want it to be around long after I am gone for others to enjoy. Obviously Nascar has a bountiful surplus of extra seats in X and Trucks and rather than just letting the seats remain unoccupied there is little to lose in getting them some use.

When I was a kid the overwhelming amount of families had one mother and one father and the kids in the household all had the same mom and dad. You ate together, went to the grocery store together and did activities together because you were a family and that is what families used to do. These days many households are headed up by single women and you need a score card to keep up with which kid belongs to which dad and how everyone is related. A lot of single parent homes cannot afford things like school supplies let alone taking kids to a track to see a race so I think Nascar could do a nice thing for a lot of people and it wouldn't really cost anything to do and over a 5-10 period could yield some nice results.

I certainly don't . It's still just Racin , no matter who wins . If there are no cup stars we will complain about the JRM and other cup funded teams. We will always complain , someday maybe Nascar will stop overreacting

I'm less likely to watch if there aren't any Cup drivers in the races. I tune in to watch the best compete.

How many of those 196 races were won by either JGR, Penske, JRM, RCR or Roush?

Your issue shouldn't be with who's driving, but rather WHAT they're driving in. Big team vs little team is just part of the sport. The same teams are winning, the drivers are interchangeable.

I don't disagree with those that say X would not survive without cup drivers as it is barely supported with cup drivers and teams as it is.

Xfinity races are consistently the second most popular motorsport broadcast of the week. With the sole exception of one day per year (Indy 500), nothing from Indycar, F1, NHRA, MotoGP or any other racing series comes even close.

I love what Brendan said. I watch Xfinity and trucks when the cup guys are racing. I enjoy watching Kyle Busch race anything and I think he enjoys racing anything, anyone, anywhere, in any class. My personal opinion is attendance will be hurt without the Cup drivers but that will remain to be seen.

I'm a diehard, but I was disappointed to see Kyle scheduled at Phoenix in the 18 as someone who's attending.

I think Cup guys in the lower series is fine in moderation, but not with the Chase Grid format where they are taking away Chase wins from the regulars.

What NASCAR should be doing:

-Top 16 in Cup points from previous season not allowed to participate in 7 NXS Chase races, 4 Dash for Cash Races.
- Not allowed to run 7 NCWTS Chase races.

I don't disagree with that but the numbers are still small as 387K watched the last race with Cup as a lead in.
