Was thinking and Davey Allison never gave a interview after the 1992 The Winston since he had to go to the hospital
I give him a pass, I don't think he was racing hard and didn't want to muck up the championship drivers. He tried to stay out of itTy Gibbs with a top 10
I always said taking a regular date away and putting dirt on it was a mistakeCan we do this twice a year again? It’s the best paved oval in the series.
He did a lot better than some of the regulars.I give him a pass, I don't think he was racing hard and didn't want to muck up the championship drivers. He tried to stay out of it
Is that some kind of new math or rounding? 11th.Ty Gibbs with a top 10
To be fair, that was a fantastic race. Bias ply tires and lack of grip made it an awesome event. Still prefer the pavement but let’s not totally kill that eventI always said taking a regular date away and putting dirt on it was a mistake
It was fun to watch sure. But it could be done literally anywhere. Didn't need to take a date away from the pavement at bristol. That was my angleTo be fair, that was a fantastic race. Everyone was saying old Bristol after the dirt races, but I think THAT was it.That was the most insane finish I've ever seen
But not unexpected, after all IT'S BRISTOL BABY!
No, old Bristol would have meant Cindric punting Dinger going into 3 to winEveryone was saying old Bristol after the dirt races, but I think THAT was it.
looked like a race to me and a pretty good oneTBH: I'd rather have two consistently awesome races a year on paved Bristol, than a gimmick dirt race that will more likely than not lose its novelty within a few years.
And that's what will happen with dirt Bristol IMHO. The race will lose its novelty in a few years
I mean, it waslooked like a race to me and a pretty good one
My bad, last I saw he was 9th.Is that some kind of new math or rounding? 11th.
Yes, but it was a lot closer to it.No, old Bristol would have meant Cindric punting Dinger going into 3 to win
Modern Bristol is better. We have the close racing of pre 2007 Bristol, with the side by side action of 2007-2016 Bristol
Most of the fan base, me included wanted more diverse tracks. Dirt was on a couple surveys along with what tracks would you pick to have races on, and ratings on the current tracks. I think they got a pretty good idea of what to do. The L.A. thing had to come from left field, but with covid they were hurting from not being able to go there, so they are doubling up it looks like next year. A good primer for the new short track a year later after that.I mean, it was
How much of it was novelty factor? Because to me that looked like too much of a crash fest, even by Bristol standards
Dirt Bristol was garbage. This is much better.
Ditch the spray and re-reconfigure the track back to what it was.
The problem with the NASCAR dirt track gimmick is that these aren’t dirt cars. They should dole out spec Sprint cars if this is what they’re trying to push.Once North Wilkesboro returns as NASCAR's dirt track, you might get your wish for no dirt at Bristol.
Let's give them all ATVs with 700 HP for the dirt and see who can really drive. The problem with the NASCAR dirt track gimmick is that these aren’t dirt cars. They should dole out spec Sprint cars if this is what they’re trying to push.
Or maybe make them all cartoon characters and have a mini series in the off-season.Let's give them all ATVs with 700 HP for the dirt and see who can really drive.
No, leave Wikes as a paved short track. Even if I don't think Cup is coming back thereOnce North Wilkesboro returns as NASCAR's dirt track, you might get your wish for no dirt at Bristol.
Dirt late models would be betterThe problem with the NASCAR dirt track gimmick is that these aren’t dirt cars. They should dole out spec Sprint cars if this is what they’re trying to push.
Anything but concrete/paved circuit cars with dirt tires. NASCAR fans aren’t that stupid.Dirt late models would be better
How about a sort of rival, but at a track with only grass in the infield. A dirt (grass) roval!Or maybe make them all cartoon characters and have a mini series in the off-season.

Some fans. These things are built better for dirt than they are road courses and fans eat that up.
I don't see Goodyear making a special tire for one race for longAnything but concrete/paved circuit cars with dirt tires. NASCAR fans aren’t that stupid.
I just want to see the failed gimmicks go away.
