Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

"Overtime" itself is stupid.

The last 10 or so laps of any given race should not have caution laps count. If the caution comes out with 4 to go, clean it up and go green again with 4 still to go. It's not that complicated
And again, agreed.

cant believe they threw the yellow when they were that close coming to the checker....oh well

It's NASCAR trying to be like Ball sports, somehow they think using the "overtime" will somehow draw fans in.

I don't think the 98 won..... Jesus Christ the big white strip was right ****** there!

Allgaier is going to be mad...

That is such bull****, **** the yellow light and let them race to the line.

I was at the 2002 Pepsi 400 that ended under caution. Fans started throwing beer cans and seat cushions on to the track. I don't know why people that year all of a sudden got fed up with races ending under yellow. It never bothered me...

I think Burton got his talking points during the commercial break. "We serewed up, but make it sound like we made the right decision".

Shut up Jeff Burton. Quit making excuses for the officials. Letting them run another 100 feet to the line wouldn't have endangered anyone.

Ya this. I get wanting to get safety personnel into the track but what's the point of waiting or not waiting what would have amounted to 3-4 seconds????

To me it looks like they tried as hard as they could to try and see if they could keep it green, remember it's a judgement call. I just don't understand that people think cars need 17 miles to stop like it's a freight train or something, they could have easily raced back to line and get stopped before the back, unless there were cars running still trying to get by the wreck.

So NASCAR could have thrown the yellow a second earlier or a second later and the finish would have been different. This isn't racing. There is a muthaluvin line for a reason.

Allgaier put a positive spin on it.....but can tell by his mannerisms after the interview that he's torn.

nascar got this one wrong ........tho poor ole almirola needed it.
but so did allgier........in xfinity chase.

Not a single mention of it. They're too busy trying to tell us how right they were in the call when they know we don't want to hear the excuses. The race is over...Allgaier was screwed, now update us on the drivers involved in the wreck.
I'm legitamitely concerned...there were 5 vicious hits and they haven't shown live backstretch footage since the race ended. Plus with NASCAR throwing the yellow right before the line, it makes me think they got word that someone got hurt.

Ryan Ellis drove the car to pit road but still in the care center.
