Xfinity RACE thread --- Mid-Ohio

Best day of racing this year! Both were great! Michigan showed today why it was a fan favorite back in the day. Cars use to be able to draft and slingshot much easier years ago. Mid-Ohio is a great track for these type of cars. Mostly high speed with just enough technical stuff to keep everyone honest.

Just watched the race Via DVR :booya:

I thought it was a damn good race, side by side close racing a lot of times on a road course . The last 5 laps were grrrrrreat! A lot of take no prisoner moves in this one.

Some of us who watched the race were wondering what happened to Matt Bell

Though there was no replay available of the accident, Bell radioed in to his team that he was experiencing brake issues. However, he’s not sure that’s the reason he crashed, hard.

“The brakes were feeling a little spongy, but it’s a heavy car and you’re going pretty fast, so I didn’t think anything of it,” Bell told RACER, following his crash. “I don’t know exactly what happened, but something definitely broke. You’re pushing against the pedal and it sort of gives quickly.

“It’s when you just spear a wall out of nowhere that it sucks. It surprises you and your legs aren’t braced, your arms aren’t braced, so when you have plenty of time to think about it you can grab the straps and pull your legs back and press your head against the seat and it’s actually fine.”

Thought this race was a snoozer. Actually did fall asleep in stage 1 and woke up to see Koch win the stage. Just wasn't alot of excitement in this race but following the trucks was tough.

We kinda thought it was a stuck throttle. :idunno:

From his comments, he must not have known the concrete wall was behind the tires. Nasty looking to say the least, glad he is ok. NBC did a lousy job at this race letting fans know what happened in several different instances.
