Xfinity RACE thread --- Pocono

It sucks this is between cuppers but since I've been watching (between commercials) this has been an entertaining race

The drivers did an excellent job with the broadcast. Best thing FOX has done in a long time.

The camerawork and actual coverage of the on track action still sucks balls. Even the last lap pass for the win was missed by the dreaded on board view.

It is going to be hard for NBC to show more commercials than fox, if they do it will be a 15 minute highlight clip followed by an hour and a half infomercial.

Really liked the novelty of the cup drivers doing the broadcast. They did much better than I expected.

On a side note the reflection on the shiny desk of Danica's bare arms created an illusion of her legs like she was squating, very weird.

Interesting approach and from what I watched, whoever the "producer" or whatever they call the person in charge of the broadcast is....should be fired. Hard to believe that someone can actually be paid for the what we see on Fox.

Just finished up watching the race, and that was fun having the Cup drivers take over, it went a lot better than I thought it would, I was really impressed with Ricky the most, he nailed pit reporting, I sure as hell enjoyed the booth.

Stenhouse, Jones, and Bowyer are naturals at race commentary. Even the other drivers did a really nice job today. Hopefully this becomes a permanent thing for the Xfinity series in the future.

But...the overall broadcast SUCKED. AGAIN. I doubt anyone with epilepsy can even watch these races on TV with how many different camera shots we get every 10 seconds. And the "sniper" camera was in full force once again. HOW ******* DIFFICULT IS IT TO ZOOM THE **** OUT?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:owquitit::idunno:

I thought the all driver broadcasting was great. I thing that Harvick was the best overall and is the most likely to end up in a broadcasting gig when the time comes. I like him better in the booth than on the track, actually. I also liked the irony of Denny Hamlin and Danica sitting together in the Hollywood hotel! But the best part of all was not having to listen to Mikey Waltrip as part of the announcing team!

I think this was one of the best Pocono races I've seen in any series. It had everything.. fuel and tire strategy, crazy restarts, bump n run, last lap pass.. Plus wasn't wreck filled but had it's fair share of drama. Ended a long losing streak for the 22 in the series which of course is a big plus in my books.

The all driver TV crew thing was pretty cool too. I hope to see more of that.

Hopefully today's race is even close to that good.

I really enjoyed the race, but, then I normally always do.
The Cup guys calling the Race and in the pits was "GREAT". When those guys talk about what is going on, they KNOW what they are talking about, hope they do it more often.
It was a very nice change from Mikey's fake excitement and Adam A's constant blathering.

It worked particularly well because they'd all just come off the track and knew the conditions.
I, too, hope it's done more often.
