54 was faster most of the race, but Larson held the point the entire race, so having a slower car isn't an excuse, nor is experience.

He felt the pressure, made a mistake and got beat.

As good of a season he had last year, this is why he won't have half the career Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson did.

Larson's my guy, he's the most talented in NASCAR imo, and he's a legitimate champion...but *something* is missing compared to other all time greats, imo. He's not a killer, and sometimes feels the pressure of the moment.
