Xfinity RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

I mean I ain’t saying that. I’m more so talking to the Ty fans whining about it, but act like it’s okay when he does it. But if I say that, I’ll be yelled at by the staff like last time
What’s the expiry date on that victim card?

So then my comment wasn’t directed at you.

I always been one to say if you rough someone up, you get what’s coming to you. Its the one time I’m fine with that, even if it happens to my driver. I understand why some folks didn’t like it, and I respect that view.
I'm just saying are we gonna condemn it when it happens to the driver you like but celebrate it when they do it? I say its dirty and takes no talent

I answered that in my reply.

“Its the one time I’m fine with that, even if it happens to my driver.”

Today, Ty started it, and Sam finished it in the same day. Pretty sure it can be paid back in the same race.
I was hoping Mayer would send Gibbs off into turn one harder than he wanted to go. He opted for "flat out wreck him" instead.

Bad habits learned in Legend Cars.

Random thought. I know these numbers have always been around and raced together, but honestly how many other times have cars #1 and #2 finished in order 1st and 2nd? It seems extremely rare thinking about it.
Not sure about Xfinity, but it’s never happened in the history of Cup. The closest is #1 and #2 finishing P1 and P3 twice in the 70s

If someone I like, does something like using someone up, and then gets taken out for it, I’d accept it happened, because they started it. Now if you do it without something happening before hand, then I wouldn’t.

Everyone's reaction on Twitter, summed up:

"It's dirty but as long as you do it to someone I don't like, it's fine."

This is what's wrong with these development series today. "Win at all costs" mentality, and it being encouraged by the sanctioning bodies and social media because of "viral moments."

It's not right, but I can deal with it a lot easier when it's not series regulars racing for points getting taken out.

“Win at all costs” isn’t sustainable. At some point talent comes into play.

@Blaze

Deliberately wrecked his championship rival on the first lap of the final race of the season.

Hating Ty Gibbs for racing people dirty in the past is fine, but this move by Mayer easily one of the most unforgivable and malignant fouls in racing.

Remember when Tony Stewart dumped Carl Edwards at Homestead in 2011? Oh wait, that didn't happen.

I called an 80% chance that he would do it. If you remember on the caution Kevin Hamlin told Sam that he would have told the 19 to do the same thing when he blocked him and that he just has to regroup and get it done and Sam replied with a emphatic and loud 10-4!! That conversation was code for the restart and he dumped him.

That's what I was thinking. I've watched/been a fan since I was about 5 or maybe younger, and I don't remember ever seeing that happen. One of those very unique stats that could easily be overlooked but is kind of fascinating since it is so rare.

Exactly what I was saying. So this is gonna continue

Straight drove through him. Lied and said he “wheel-hopped.”
At least be an honest man.
Gibbs has a Cup ride. Sam is the next Allgaier.

And see in a moment like that, I don’t like it. I’ve said that. If it’s no reason to have happened then I don’t think it’s right. But the restart before, Ty used him up. Do I wish Sam just sent him instead of what happened? Sure, would’ve been cleaner. But it’s not like he didn’t have a reason to do it. Plus as I said to Spotter, that comment about Ty was his fans being mad at it, but staying hush when he’s done it. Like that’s it. If you didn’t stay hush when Ty did it, I wasn’t talking about you.

As I said. You deny it so you don’t get in trouble. If you admit to it, you get punished. I wish drivers could say they did it and not have to be punished because more could own up to it. But any smart driver isn’t gonna be like yeah I dumped him.

We have a completely definition of "used up". The 19 came up and caught the nose of the 1 because he wasnt clear. Usually it would have ended up bad for the 19, you dont use up someone with the rear of your car.

They don’t take away wins, only money. It’s not like these guys are minimum wage.

That’s fair, and I respect your view of it, and your opinion. I disagree but that’s what makes it great. We see stuff differently.

B.S. he ran him out of room, he wasn't clear.
