"Your children are not safe anywhere, at any time."

Smack, who do you think someone would choose as a victim:

The guy standing there with no weapon

The guy standing there with a weapon

Which guy do you think is gonna get picked to be the victim?

I still think it would do more harm then good. Alot and I mean alot of people have anger problems in this country and if they go overboard and they have that gun... I also dont think this applies to incidents like this if you are 300 feet away from somone and they arent able to see you its not gonna matter if they have a hand gun on there side.

I understand what your saying it might be able to help

But I just have a problem thinking about a majority of the population caring a hand gun most people are lazy and might forget to put it up kid gets it and then... theres also alot of other things that could happen I just dont think alot of people are responsible enough to have a sidearm.

A defenseless society is one that will be turned into a victim.

Whats the old saying, "Those who beat thier swords into plow shares, shall plow for those who don't."

Anger management? Smack, do you think someone with road rage is willing to try to stomp someone if he thinks they may be packing?

If someone has a gun pointed at you are you willing to get your gun out and see if you can shoot them first?

paul Im talking about a criminal not a terriost most criminals will just steal from you not kill you. IF your a clerk in a store when a guy pulls a gun out are you gonna pull your gun out and hope you can shoot him and kill him before he gets off a shot.

A guy tries to steal your money and your gonna risk your life lol great logic paul.

Would I use deadly force if someone were trying to steal my car? No.

Would I use deadly force if I saw someone riding around in a van shooting children at school? Yes.

They are only allowed to ride around in their van because they know that citizens can't do jack about it. We are fish in barrel and this whole sniper thing proved it.

Don't buy a gun if you don't want one smack, I will and when the time comes where I might need it I'll be glad I have it.

I'm done arguing with you.

Plus, you didn't say "a guy is trying to steal your money" you said the guy pulls out a gun when I'm in a store.

Someone draws on me, I'll draw on them and may the best shot win.

paul if your talking about this one incident please name a handgun that has the distance of a high powered rifle.

I thought you were talking about criminals in general.

If I feel they intend to do me harm then they have made a mistake that I will not make. They didn't pull the trigger. The answer is Yes. And by the way I have several handguns that will shoot as far as a high power rifle, They use the same ammo. As accurate as a rifle for about 200 yards but the rifle would be more accurate after that.
If you feel they (robbers) just use a gun to take your money come to SC. I'll introduce you to a man that was robbed in a little store, did everything he was told but was still shot in the forehead. Only by the Grace of God did he survive although not 100%. Go ahead give them your money, car or whatever but make your peace with God ahead of time.

we had a sniper/gunman on the loose at one of our Uni's the other day:( he killed two students and wounded 4 others. One of my dear friends is a student there and i feared for her saftey. Luckily she was okay...

Its gonna come down to how you feel at the time of the act. You might think that you'll draw and pull a trigger, but you might stand there and piss yourself.

But, I would rather have the chance to draw if I wanted to. Most states that have some kind of gun-carry law requires the owner of the gun to go through some type of gun safety course.

I don't know too many states that makes the criminals go through the same class.......

too close to home...then there was bali, my mum's neighbour was one of those killed... I live in fear of what will happen next...the law is a funny thing..over here if a robber/burgular trips and hurts him/herself they can sue you as the home owner! And then if you kill someone in defence you can go to jail!

Rally, is it true that Aust. took away all the citizens weapons? (Guns) I have always heard that, but never knew....

yes they took away the guns from people. we had a big gun amestiy and loads of guns were turned in but there still is a few out there in the hands of bad people:(

we have a sticker over here that reads "guns don't kill people, people kill people"

Was it by a vote, or did the Gov't decide to do it on their own? Hope I'm not getting in to a sensetive subject with you......

no worries...i will ask someone i know and get back to you, but im sure there wasnt a vote.

the police pulled me up once and took away a tiny knife i had in my boot (trunk) saying it was a weapon and I could hurt someone with it. the knife was for cutting open bags of horse feed..lol..
