sure hope no one is camping in the low areas in lots 11 and 12 yet. they wont be happy campers. that's a flash flood area when it rains like this.

Weather could be an issue at Dover:The National Weather Service calls for rain to be likely on Friday and Saturday, but clearing on Sunday.
Today - Scattered showers. Cloudy, with a high near 70. Northeast wind 13 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

@bobpockrass

Tony Stewart to be held 15 minutes during first practice for failing templates three times at Chicago. Didn't serve at NHMS b/c rain threat

Delayed again.....

@bobpockrass

Because practice shortened to dry track, Stewart's 15-minute penalty deferred to Charlotte.

We're heading for Dover Saturday night/Sunday morning, weather-be-damned. We'll be sitting behind the #88 pit box trying to stay dry.
that's cool, hope it works out for you. went to dover for twenty years never got rain out. they always got the race in some how.

We went the past 2 fall races. Two years ago, the weather was awesome. Last year, we had Hurricane Joaquin. The Sunday weather was crappy, foggy, and cloudy, but they got the race in. It just seems like NASCAR rushes the show when the weather sucks. I guess they have no choice. If you get a window without rain, you get the race going.

Lyle Karson fast af off the truck, again. Hopefully it can translate on Sunday...

I hope they get the Xfinity race in tomorrow. Not looking forward to running two races on Sunday.

If anyone has plans to watch a delayed broadcast of the K&N race from yesterday, DO NOT click the link I posted earlier.

The way the cam was aimed a couple minutes ago gives a view of the scoring pylon and the numbers are still on it.

Xfinity race moved to 10am tomorrow. I wonder how they will handle people with COLD garage passes? Tell them to go back home?

I'd love to, but no one seems to have the answer. Dover says to ask NASCAR. NASCAR does not have any viable contact info.

Baseball double-header economics are different. Some of them are planned in advance. For the unplanned ones, the season has so many games that the team knows there will be a few unscheduled ones. Also, when a fan buys a ticket, he's in the same seat for both games.

Race tracks host far fewer events than baseball stadiums, so they're annual planned budget can't include any freebies. With racing, the fans payed a lot less for those supporting race tickets than for the Cup event. The track isn't going to let those X-only ticket holders get the Cup race for free. There's also the potential problem of different people holding tickets for the same seat in each race.

I've read of a couple of unplanned doubles where the Cup ticket holders are let in for free after 20% or 25% of the supporting race has been run. I recall M'ville started a Truck race on a Sunday double-header and then let the Cup holders in after 50 laps of 250. I guess the track figures that by that point, they've sold all the tickets they can reasonably expect to move, and the good will from letting the Cup crowd in the smart long-term move.

They are allowing anyone with an Xfinity ticket in for both races. You just have to move if someone with a Sprint Cup ticket has your seat for the second race. So....if you bought an Xfinity ticket, you get a free double header.

There was nothing on RADAR .Maybe climate change is worse then I thought.

I'm not even sure if they will let us in. I can't seem to contact anyone at Dover or NASCAR to see how they are handling people with COLD garage passes.

Might be Monday with how the low spins and brings up bay mist

How unfortunate fifa has 40 sponsors but this race has 0

pouring here in the delware valley now, not showing up on RADAR. Rain is hitting the roof

Hopefully we get 1st time winner

Sprint Cup drivers Kyle Busch, Austin Dillon & Joey Logano won't race rain-delayed Xfinity race

They’re stickin’ umbrellas on the picnic tables to the right as one strolls under the arch towards the monster thing.

Wonderin’ if they’re hopin’ for the best or preparin’ for the worst…...

Replaced by Drew Herring, Regan Smith and Ryan Blaney.

I'd like to see Drew Herring do well.

This weekend is a reason why a "race" should be viewed as an entire weekend proposition IMO. Limited practice with confusing track conditions give us tremendous uncertainty about what will happen today. When we look at this from the perspective of anticipation to resolution, this "race" is already awesome. Jacked to see what CC's get it right from launch, and screw themselves because adjustability was underestimated. Can't wait to see what drivers adjust, and which ones can't. Awesome stuff. So, I encourage the membership to consider all of this when "rating the race." So stoked for today. I love this damn sport.
