Travis Pastrana?

Really? I'm much younger than you, you should know what it is by now. :p

Is the crossword puzzzle old folks like so much. :D
It is a puzzle of numbers not words. In short, each line, vertically and horizontally, must contain the numbers 1-9.

Its a japanese word. Not german. lol

Then you must know how happy I am that the "little german" is the world champion again

Hell, I'd've figured it would've been an ornamental. I tried some of that Chinese arithmetic when I was in grade school. Whew.

Sad , back in the day , drivers got more than a few races to learn to compete in North Americas top racing series' . Some didn't even make it on their first season and had to leave ,but came back . Others found a better ride later and things fell into place for them . Today's Nascar , it's fans and sponsors expect instant success . Ain't gonna happen. Travis could have been big in a year or two ,and it would have been good for Nascar.

It's also about the money these days. It's a lot more 'spensive to go fast now than it was back in the day. Travis was probably footing part of the bill. Crashing NASCARs ain't cheap.

Don't recall anybody that didn't wreck lots of cars as a rookie . It's a product of trying to go fast .

Most of the young competitive drivers these days came up through different types of racing than did Travis. Many were scouted and were part of driver development programs.

Go drill holes in the ground guy.
Travis probably thought that anybody could drive a stock car and win races. Reality has set in and he now knows it aint that easy.
Juan Pablo said this weekend that driving a cup car was like "driving a school bus" .

I sure wouldnt call Travis a quitter, I have seen him ride a dirt bike and its a beautiful thing. Not everybody is a stock car racer
I suppose... Guess I just hoped he'd stick it out and get better.. guess not.

It's unfortunate, but really this was the only outcome this experiment was ever going to conclude with. Travis brought with him a new fanbase and the hope of attracting a whole new generation of younger fans. Obviously he's a very talented driver and competitor in motocross and rally however NASCAR series competition can make good drivers look very ordinary. It's too bad it didn't work out for him.

Can guarantee that guys drilling holes in the ground make twice the paycheck you do. Atleast they know their holes from their ass

Did I hit a nerve there chex? Sorry,I forgot how sensitive you are. Here's a hanky..

If you look at his career, when he rode bikes, he would go fast and then crash. In Rally he had no major league competition, so he managed to capture a lower tier championship or two in spite of crashing. When he went Sports car racing, he went fast and then he crashed.(He was Mikey Waltrip's team mate in the Daytona 24 Hours.) In Nascar he went fast, sometimes, and then he crashed. That's all he has ever done when confronted with top level competition. He made his name doing exhibition driving and riding. (X-games, Red Bull events.) Anytime he had stiff competition, he crumbled. It's no surprise to me it turned out this way, but I hope he has success in whatever he chooses to do next.

I wish Travis the best, he was solid, but was solid in rally cars. I guess he is going to stick with GRC (Global RallyCross Championship) and he is quite a solid runner in that sport as well. Guys like Ken Block, Brian Deegan, Toomas Heikkien, and Tanner Foust are in the field. It seems very competitive and quite a bit of fun to watch as well.

I guess he will do that instead of going between NASCAR and GRC duties. I've grown up watching him and seeing him being successful in all facets he has competed in... Quite nice to see, but I still wonder why some of the moves he made. Like for instance, he never competed in the 250cc class back in the day. He and Carmichael would have been nice to see...

No no just realized I hadn't taken a shot at you lately & it got hot in here so I had to itch it.

It must have been quite a shock to him when he realized that this wasnt for him, the guy has been good at everything he has done in the past.
I guess this is more proof that the guys that are good at Nascar have a lot more talent then some believe.
Hard to imagine Joey being better at something than Travis huh :lol2:

Read that if you can and then try calling him a quitter.

Just sayin'
Quitter.. also.. whats the point in attacking my personal life man? That just low. Seriously. I do what I have to do to support my family .. what you think you're better than me? The fact that u even said that makes me know your not. There's a difference between bugging me about Joey and literally attacking my personal life and how I support my family. Call me a whiner or whatever you want but you are ignorant, disrespectful, and Chex is right... I probably do make more than you... We all bust each others balls around here, and have a good time with it... but when you literally try to put down my profession.. Its bull****, that crosses a line... but what else could I have expected from an ignorant person other than ignorance.

Sliced...what do you do for a living? Not hating, just curious
I dig holes in the ground... LOL well.. thats whats the morons say. I do bobcat and backhoe work. Mostly digging, weeping tiles, replacing sewage and water lines etc.. snow removl through the winter.. but there's a lot more, any time people cant lift stuff, they get a machine to do it. I'm the guy on the machine. A few weks ago we ripped a porch off someones house. Today Im going to check a foundation because this guys house is like 80 years old and a train runs right behind it its knocking it off the foundation. Should be interesting...

That's good slice It sounds like a damn fine job with good pay, most of the ones that bash you for it probably live in their moms basement and if they have ever held a job it was probably delivering pizza's or flipping burgers for minimum wage.

Thats kind of weird Sliced --------------- I make my money repairing bobcats and backhoes. Its hard to imagine what some of you operators can do to those poor machines :)

We have guys here in Arizona that dig swimming pools with the mini bobcats !!!! They are the only machines that can fit through the back yard gates.

:D Another good productive job.

Yay for Pastrana leaving and admitting he sucked. He was becoming the cool JWT.

The question is who is gonna fill his ride? It could be cup drivers (booooo!), or I could see Chris Buscher getting the ride. Or it could be some random trucker. Or it could be just going to part time status.
