Good luck with that..Start up front, finish mid pack, start mid pack finish mid pack. If she wins...it will be on a plate track with a lot of luck involved, she's out classed anywhere else. Sorry, but that's the cold hard truth. With the resources she has behind her, she should be challenging for wins, Kyle Larson does, Austin Dillon can, not just running around with the back markers and underfunded teams. I would like to see her win, I really would, but the last thing she needs is to have a Derrick Cope moment and be a flash in the pan, but then again, if she wins, she'll always be able to say she won at the highest levels of the sport.

Good post. I want to see better races from her. Frustrates me! I'm such a fan and know the talent is in there! Maybe she needs to see a zen master or something. I think if she was aggressive in the right way we would see better finishes. She knows how to take care of car....

I do not want her to win one or two races...I want a female champ.

Do you really believe she has sufficient talent to beat any of the guys who have already won a race or the others who are consistently running up front? I mean, do you really? No offense, but I've always thought you were trolling from the start but I want to know if you're serious.
Straight up, right now. Do you believe what you're saying? I seriously want to know. If you're legit, I'm sorry if I offended you.

Anyway, I personally believe she doesn't have the talent needed to compete at the top level. I also don't think she'd be competitive in Nationwide.

Perhaps if she'd had great mentors along the way and more preparation for this stock car stuff, things might've been different.

Maybe the bigger percentage of talent of something is innate, and she just wasn't born with it. Or the ability to learn it well.

Ok, that's all.

If you're a Danica fan, of course you should want her to win races and hope that she wins a championship. Nothing wrong with that.

If you're a Danica fan and you actually expect her to win Cup races and believe she can win a title, you're just not in touch with reality.

You're right. I was a little harsh with him I guess because of the way he entered the forum - I thought it was fake and I couldn't stand to read the posts.
I guess I should say that I'm not against anybody being a fan of any driver.

I agreed with your post 100%, I was just kind of adding to it. I applaud him for sticking with his driver, but if he really believes some of the stuff he says, he's a little crazy

Im NOT trolling at ALL. I have followed DP from her Indy days and seen flashes of the driver she can be. I believe she can be successful in cup but I'm gonna acknowledge its been a struggle. I wish she was doing better!

I dont agree she was not born with it-she was racing at a young age and has continued to do so. She will have cup success I believe. I really do in my heart of hearts. I

I believe she can compete up front. She has had a series of set backs and a bad year or so yes. All drivers do. I mean There are ALOT of drivers who go a long time between wins. Look at JR.

In sum, I TRULY believe what I am saying. I know that there will be others who disagree with my opinions on DP, but I stand by them.

I am a fan, simple as that. I dont have green shaded glasses on--I know whats what. Hell, shes even frustrated at her lack of performance. I know that she has to improve. I believe she can.

She did well and set a record. The first woman to finish less than three laps down in a cup race at Texas. Bettering her previous record of less than four laps set last year, she took advantage of a wave around to reclaim one of three she lost under green. She’s learning.

Well done.

You've been following her for over a decade and she has only had a bad year or so?

Give her time to learn the ropes. In Indycar she was much more competitive week in week out this is one of the many reasons I have hope for her

SHR as a whole did not do well at Texas.

Well Harvick's car blew up, otherwise he probably finishes in the top ten. Stewart was fast.

Its not about one race, DP is the fourth driver on the team by a wide margin and brings the team down much like her boyfriend does at Roush.

DP takes care of her equipment ( har har) so she keeps the car running....but it is odd that her and Ricky have similar success

So what?
If taking care of her equipment means a mid pack finish laps down every week, what good is that?
You do realize other drivers can take care of their equipment and also post top 10/ top 5 finishes, right?

her teammates aren't....(eg harvick)

lol Harvick has a win and has been very competitive.

Perhaps Danica needs to start pushing herself outside of her comfort zone instead of just riding the race out.
It looks to me like all she's trying to do is bring the car home in one piece no matter how many laps down she is each week, so her fans can say Danica has finished every race since bla bla bla, as if that's really an accomplishment.
The 10 team is not running on a shoe string budget. They can afford to fix her cars is she wads it up once in a while.

She "takes care of her car" yet she wrecked how many last year? Didn't she trash more cars than any other full-time driver?

I would love to see her say f*ck it and be aggressive; forget about playing it safe and learning lessons or whatever. With the equipment she has, she is easily capable of some good finishes if she wasn't afraid of going fast.

you know I actually agree I wish she would be more agressive..I do like she can take care of a car ...much better than last year but would rather top 5s or wins.

I'm glad you feel that way.
But bragging that she finished in front of a teammate that blew a motor, or blew a tire and crediting it to her saving her equipment is a bad joke.

May as well say she is doing much better because she finished close to where the 48 car did yesterday.

I want her to wheel that fricking car!

I am also aware that she is prob playing it too close to the vest after wrecking a few cars. I like that she is finishing but man!!!! I want her to be putting a slide job on jj for the win, not battling david ruttman for 30th.

I was agreeing with most of your post until you made the comment that she is afraid to go fast. She proved beyond a shadow of doubt in Indy car that she is not afraid to go fast. Those cars are traveling at much higher speeds and on the edge of disaster all the time, and when things go bad they go bad fast with much more of a chance for serious injury or death. A cup car is much safer to drive now days and i don't think she is afraid to go fast. She just seems to have a problem of figuring out how to make the car go fast.

But most everyone on here usually likes to talk about how easy open-wheel cars are to drive. That and how boring it is.

I'm not one of them.;) They are two different animals that takes a lot of skill... one takes finesse and patience, and the other takes more of an aggressive style of driving and strength. But, neither one is boring to me.:)

I agree 100%. I should have clarified. I don't mean an actual fear of speed, but she seems far too hesitant to take any chances or push the car near it's limits

just read the race report...from texas.

“We definitely made the GoDaddy/Get Found Chevy better throughout the race for sure, but the track changed a lot today with the weather, and I think that really hurt us,” said Patrick, who made her 53rd career Sprint Cup start and her fourth at Texas.“It was disappointing, because we had a fast racecar today; but we did make the right adjustments, and the pit crew did a nice job in the pits all day.”
llml
Gibson said he was pleased with the effort of his GoDaddy/Get Found crew.

“We made a lot of changes today to help get the car into the racetrack better and to free the car up,” Gibson said. “The good thing is that we definitely were making the car better with those adjustments each stop. I’m proud of what the guys did on pit road, and I’m proud of the effort. I think we learned a lot today that hopefully will help us as we get into the schedule and go to more of these 1.5-mile tracks.”

Im a little confused. Is she blaming her crew??? we did not make the right adjustments?

Read what you posted again. She doesnt blame her crew at all.

Unless there was a missing word after did make good adjustments.

After listening to her radio in Texas I truly believe she does not know how to tell her CC what the car is doing or what she needs.Plus she babbles for so long that I think he's tired of hearing her talk.I had to skip her channel sometimes just so I could hear others talking.

Keep the faith man.

I like that about you.

I don't think she has a clue right now. She also has trouble running a consistent line, which makes it near impossible to diagnose the car.

Yep.All she kept during practice and the race was"my car is raising up over the bumps" and in the corners it was loose, tight and over rotating all at the same time.

I feel bad for her CC. His career is slipping away while Danica plays house with Ricky. Her biggest mark on the sport may be if she becomes the first pregnant driver to compete in a race. Then she'll be in the record books 2 more times, because she'll probably get the highest finish for a pregnant driver.
