After 26 races I believe any tie would be broken by points which at this point would be Gordon.

As was implemented in 2011, prior to the start of the Chase, all Chase Grid drivers will have their points adjusted to 2,000, with three additional bonus points added to their total for each win in the first 26 races.
I found this on Jayski so I guess at this point it would be a 4 way tie.

They may be. I'm still a little confused by the new Chase format.

Same here...and there is really no use in doing the research and figuring it all out...they'll just change it again next year

...not being overly critical though, tradition in sports is over-rated, make it fun. Heck, even a somewhat boring Nascar race beats soccer.
