Jeff Gordon to retire after 2015 season

So Gordon is a whiner, an ass-hole and gay.

Where did all these newbs come from? GTFO of Gordon threads! And back to your holes.

Gotta to admit that I have enjoyed taking a few jabs at Gordon and his fans throughout the years. Life would be boring if we all agreed.

But the gay jokes are as stupid as it as gets, the Dude has had more beautiful women in his arms than most of us could dream of, if not all of us.
Even if someone hates Gordon, folks should at least respect his kids enough to avoid that kind of garbage.

There is also something to be said about anybody that gets off on such ridicule. Some over compensation is the only thing going down.

Why can't people just hate bad sorry musicians. Make voodoo dolls of them, then microwave them, urinate on them, and finally celebrate their overdue deaths, anyhow....cause that is what some good rightous hate was made for.

Appendix: If anybody uses my hate protocol for sorry musicians remember that it important to follow the order of operations. Don't mix up or change the step sequences.

I like Jeff Burton as a driver, but he absolutely kills me as an analyst. The network partners need to quit hiring good ideas, and get some talent.

Jeff Burton is a good guy., and has a smoking hawt wife.
But he is too nice to be an interesting commentator to anyone other than Brian and the shareholders imo.

Jeff Gordon as a commentator? Really wouldn't know until he hits the water, then it is sink or swim.

He wouldn't be crude and he is mature and sophisticated enough to avoid the self aggrandizing which is huge. He is a thinker and complex. He wouldn't try to insult the upper brass But some accidental honesty might be to much for upper management.

As an aside I appreciate Jeffs class and the belief that he wouldn't self aggrandize. It is a lesson I learned a long time ago. It has helped not to run my 2014 RF Yahoo Championship, and my 2012 RF Chase Championship (not the 2012 Yahoo one, I didn't participate so someone was able to win that one) in the ground.
I can say from experience that it takes a lot discipline to be so graceful.

You're a champion's champion. LMAO

I don't know if I would like Gordon as a commentator. I'm not even convinced he would want to do that. I seriously feel like he wants to continue racing. . . just not as much.

Even if you was a fan of Gordon's or not you got to respect the guy, I've called Gordon out on things before when he's talked about others driving but facts are facts he was one of the best and soon he'll not be out there anymore, that deserves respect.

Consistently Jeff Gordon is one of the best I have ever seen. He is going out on top. I used to hate him but but now of late pull for him. He is one heck of a race car driver and a legend. I will be pulling for him this year.

Is there anybody other than Chase Elliott in line for the 24 ride? It seems obvious but you never know. What are the chances Chase gets the 24 ride?

We've all been warned and know about the random log in problems when anyone is being too much of a turd. Well, one of'em can't take a hint.

So if someone posts something you don't like, you take matters in your own hands? People are only allowed to post contents that you agree with??

Absolutely not, but you already knew that. I'm not an admin so I couldn't if I wanted to. There's a huge difference between disagreement and constant confrontation. But as I said that's not my call. But I can also state my opinion.

Oh gods, the 2015 race at Homestead is going to be bitter sweet for the NASCAR community. :(

Sure can and that is what I like about forums, reading different peoples opinions. For myself I never used to care one way or the other about JG
until all the hate by his fans about Bad Brad taking him out. So now I like to get in a few jabs now and then. I really like to point out that if Jeff was so smart, why did he race JJ so hard when all he had to do was ride his bumper to a second place finish and on into the chase. ( I think I said that before. ) :)

All is good here. But when someone makes it personal, I don'y mind firing back. I don't even mind someone's opinion that Brad is an A-Hole as long as they don't become a whiner when things are said about Jeff Poo.

I'll just sit and watch what happens next. I think It'll be fun.

Glad I got to attend Jeffs first cup race and then his first win at Charlotte
I think the picture is from the 94 World 600.

Wasn't expecting to hear him retire but am glad that he is getting out while still being competitive. Since is in business with Rick he will still be involved in the teams and be able to coach Chase as needed. In the booth I don't know though. It is hard to comment on a race because of ties to teams and I'm sure you probably wouldn't be hearing glowing raves for Brad if he makes a bold move. Hope he has a long time to enjoy the wife and family, because he has earned it.

You cant even get through a decent post without insulting a driver/member here, etc. :idunno:

We dont have that problem here with all the non-Gordon fans here and there are A LOT of them here. But at least they know where the line is.

We all have fun on the expense of a driver's fault. (Gordon's poor restarts for instance) And occasionally we take it far but its usually done with the knowing that its all kidding in the end.

This sucks. After 2015 I'll be a casual fan who doesn't attend races, watches races on DVR and doesn't subscribe to any NASCAR.com premium services.

Hopefully a different driver steps up and rekindles my passion for the sport and I'll go back to being a diehard fan. ☺

On one hand it is good to have driver only fans such as yourself but on the other it is probably better to have true race fans

Then why did you take offence with me when I mention Gordon's whining. Gordon himself admitted he does and he made light of it. But you took offence, WHY?
Did I insult him saying something real offensive like calling him an a_Hole? No I didn't. Did I call him GAY? No I didn't. Did I say anything offensive about his family?
No I didn't. But when I said something that he admits to you felt slighted and took offence to it.
Give it a little thought and maybe you will see my point.

'True Race Fans'.......... as you put it are few and far between..... that means you have absolutely no affiliation with a driver, sponsor, team owner or manufacturer. You just watch each and every race with no desire to see any one driver win. Just watching for the purity of the win. I think that is a bunch of crap... I know I have never been that way.... and I don't think you have either..... or....... 99 to 100 percent of the folks who watch it. We all have favorites and biases......

I did that?

You can call him whatever you want. We all have our opinions of certain drivers.

My issue with you is that you seem to come to every Gordon thread to bash and bait.

In the last few days alone you've called him an A-hole, dumb, and a whiner.

UPDATE: Jeff Gordon's TV career will start this year, as the soon-to-be-former Sprint Cup Series driver will serve as a rotating analyst for FOX Sports' Xfinity Series broadcasts. Gordon will switch off his Xfinity Series (formerly called Nationwide Series) analyst role with defending Cup champion Kevin Harvick and former Cup champ Brad Keselowski. Those are just part of many changes for FOX, which goes into this season splitting TV broadcasting duties with NBC. The news will officially be announced Monday.(USA Today)(1-25-2015)

When I was a NASCAR fan I definitely had drivers I rooted for but I didn't stop watching or going to races when they no longer raced. It is the same wih stick and ball sports as I watch different games with teams I don't follow just because I like the sport

Fair enough..... I think the key words are...... 'When I was a Nascar Fan'..... ;)

Maybe It's just me but If I wasn't a Nascar racing fan I sure as the dickens wouldn't be logging into this website every day being bored.
