Cup RACE thread --- Dover

No lie, today was of the best races I have seen Jr run in all the years I have been going. Going to miss watching him, but he gave a great run today

Should be a new KB bash thread soon...
Today had to suck for the Elliott/Bowtie fans.

Yep ....... Kyle gave the kid a piece of candy in victory lane ............................ should be a thread soon to point out that he is a horrible parent :lol2:

42 wins in Cup. How do you not consider him one of the all time greats?

I do. When you say "one of greatest ever". I picture top 5 top 10 drivers all time. Which he's not there YET.

I'd put him in the teens. One of the best ever. But putting him with legendary names like Yarborough, Waltrip, Gordon, Allison, to me, those are drivers I'd all some of the "greatest ever". Tony is one of the best. I'd put Kyle right behind Tony at this point.

My projection for Kyle is 3 titles, and 60-70 wins. THATS amoung the greatest ever.. he's just not there yet. More time

Once Kyle gets a couple more titles, I can consider him one of the best ever. Only problem with the one he does have has been discussed many times already.

He's referring to me. He completely missunderstood the point of my tongue in cheek comment.

Kyle's car wasn't great really till the last two runs. But had that caution not come out earlier, he likely would have been stuck back in dirty air opposed to restarting with the lead, and given how heavy dirty air is here, likely wouldnt have had the track position and car get into position to execute that drive he made on the last run. As we all know, luck plays a factor in winning races. It wasn't anything against his drive.

Hes definitely among the greatest of thie generation for sure. His career is still fairly young though. Hardly 2/3 in, I'd say.

Would have liked Chase to give Newman the chrome horn. But it sure didn’t look like he could get close enough to try. And KB? Just doing KB things, like winning.

I love all the physiologist here, so who has the degree?

Ok I stop brotha lol.. but that was crazy you think that Earnhardt caution made Kyle win lol

I can't get through to you. Kyle's drive is what won him the race. The track position gained from that early yellow gave him the track.position to be in position to inevitably make that run. ALL winners get this kind of luck. It was a tongue in cheek comment. It wasn't 100% serious my dude :)

Ok bro it's over we are good .. I just thought something different my bad

Great thing about this race was no one had the best car.

Overall, the 78, 42, 18, 24, and 48 all had winning cars.

Jr may have been able to do something if he had the track position too. He was fast

Glorious battle between Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch - didn't really know who to pull for there! Congratulations to Kyle Busch; he has now won two consecutive playoff races. So much for being the guy who can't win in the playoffs. Chase Elliott gets a tip of the hat for a race well driven, as does the rest of Hendrick Motorsports. Jimmie got a top five, and Junior Nation ought to be happy with a top-ten finish.

I love Chase, but he’s no Larson or Rowdy Busch. He’ll get his wins though

No, he isn't. He REALLY needed this one.

In some ways, he will be like Kyle. The confidence that a win give you propels you to a different level. It took Larson a few years..

How do we know Chase would not have lost grip by moving up a lane & still lost to Kyle? Kyle showed his car could work the top and bottom lanes while hunting Chase down and Chase never budged.
