nah it is just like tonight for an example. He gets beat by another yota driver, one who has been out driving him all year and he can't say congrats to Martin, he blames it on the format and blames the 22 holding his over ego'd ass up. So to me it is simple it's Kyle damn Busch :idunno::nyanya:other drivers up there shaking Truex's hand, hugging him and slapping him around..where the heck is KDB?

Agreed. Truex's domination was historic in so many ways, but it was the most boring season I've watched ever.

Kyle Larson was on fire throughout the first two stages, and, to give credit where it is due, Harvick was looking pretty racy early on. Then the momentum swung over to Kyle Busch for a while, and he was doing really well. The one-stop strategy kind of hurt him, though, and the momentum then came over to the 78 camp at the right time! :biggrin:

I was really pleased with how three out of the final four drivers remained factors in the race all the way to the end; that made the race all that much more exciting. The exception for me has to be Keselowski. His lack of pace was evident.

The battle between Larson, KyBu, and MTJ kept me on the edge of my seat. KyBu honestly could have gotten him, but the slightest tag from Larson was enough to hurt his momentum. Still, I saw that audacious dive going into the last turn - well played, KyBu. ;) It was obviously a thrill to see MTJ deservingly cap off what has been an astronomic season with his first Cup. Way to go there, champ! :D

I'm confused by this. If this race was an aero parade, could you please clarify one thing... When a car is running up by the wall, and another is on the bottom, and they are side-by-side fighting for the position... which car has the aero benefit and which has the aero detriment? Because that very scenario played out constantly on Sunday, IMO. There was passing up high, passing down low, running side-by-side with both in clean air.
 
9.5. Awesome race on an awesome track. I love Darlington more than any other, but every time I watch a race at Homestead, I wonder if it isn't even better... strictly as a race track... if one can momentarily forget about the richness of Darlington's history and the depth of its tradition. Great racing at both tracks just about every time.

I was rooting for Kez, but that was always a longshot. So I'm glad Truex won as he deserved it most. I'm not a Truex fan, but he drove like a lion all year. Stage 3 was an epic battle. Truex had the short-run speed, and just enough to hold his gap to the end.

It must be said... The 18 committed a monumental blunder when they decided not to cover the three-stint strategy for stage 3. When Truex and Harvick both short-pitted, a lap after Keselowski had done the same, I was astonished to see the 18 stick to a different strategy. They *must* have believed they couldn't win on the same strategy as Truex. As the race played out, maybe they were right, but I believe their best strategy was to cover the others. Just my $0.02.
 
6 , I was afraid it would be a cruise control affair.
Final 30 was great though.

Seriously comparing Darlington to Homestead is a very big stretch, Darlington is a real track, great racing, Homestead is just a track and most times a snoozefest.

I can't. But I am confused how someone can make up two seconds on another car in a handful of laps then can't pass them on a multi groove track.

Possible that the car in front has the fast line and the one behind has to use another line to attempt a pass
 
6 but only because of the end battle.
This whole season has been a big disappointment and NBC is a big part of that.
Their coverage is awful and the booth is the most aggravating I have ever experienced.
Of course I detest the Lottery Champion. Having said, that the right guy won it all this year.

Because now they are running up against disturbed air coming off the front car. Change lanes and your now not in the fastest lane for your car. As long as they stick with this car it matters not what they do.
 
The Truck Race = 8.5
Cole Custer was in a different time zone.
The Exfinity Race = 8.9
I really like Elliott Sadler, but, if you look at his overall history, he will and has choked every time he gets into a close battle.
The Cup race = 5
Kyle Bush whining as usual, can not admit he got his ass kicked by a better driver and car. He had 20 full no caution laps to get it done and blamed everybody and every thing but himself for failing to do so.

Martin winning the title = 10 :D

I get the comparisons without a show of disrespect to the 'Lady'. Darlington's track of yesteryear was extremely hard on tires as Homestead seems to be today. I like seeing the drop off in lap times that aren't the norm at other tracks.The high line is a preferred line by many @ Homestead but it's the only way around Dar... And, there was no shortage of Homestead stripes. Homestead, as a 1.5er, puts on a far better race than any of the 1.5er cookie cutter tracks out there. Calls for a move of the season finale to Vegas seems ridiculous to this fan. Races aren't ran in the surrounding area or in the casino's. They're raced on tracks. Homestead proved once again to be an entertaining location for NASCAR's finale. Others opinions may vary and probably do.

If there is an aero issue, how did Busch get past all those other cars while he was making up those two second? The problem wouldn't have suddenly started when he got behind the leader.

Truex was sandbagging in the last segment. When Busch moved to second, the TV guys relayed the radio message taking binders off him. Truex then moved up to the wall and began changing lines more aggressively. There's also the possibility that Busch was wearing out his tires more than Truex while he was running hard to make up those seconds.

Speaking of stripes, did Homestead leave all the stripes up from the preliminary races and practice session through the entire weekend? I wish Darlington would go back to that instead of repainting every night.

My wife commented on that at the beginning of the race yesterday. We felt that they had repainted Homestead overnight too.

Ooh, it makes me wonder. (LZ)

Anyhow, I wonder as well as these cars seem to somehow know that the aero is different behind the leader. That, or the leader is the leader because he's fastest. I tend to believe that over the intelligence of aero. o_O

I can live with that! At least I won't be losing sleep during the off season now! :)

When it turned to night, the aerodynamics won out. Busch could get to Truex but couldn't do anything.

Night racing sucks.
 
I enjoyed seeing Jr in his Bud colors and Kenseth in his Dewalt colors. The race seemed more like exhibition race, the four contenders stayed in contact for most of the race, that never happens during the season. The field became field fillers, they stayed away from the four. I wondered what the purpose for the stages was for this race. The last stage came down to strategy. I noticed Truex moved his line several times to maintain his position, he worked at winning the race. When Larson got to the leaders I wondered if he could or would pass them (I think he let Kyle know he was faster). The guy who deserved it, won the Cup.

when it turned into a long green run with slick tires, more downforce wins out...every time... day or night, short or long track

The purpose of the stages was that there were 35 other guys still competing for positions at the end of the season.
