Well, I am 50 so it's time. Thanks to my new Dr, she's given me tools to use. I had honestly given up on ever being able to lose weight until I met her.

I am taking it 1 day at a time
That's all you CAN do --- one day at a time.
Just an exercise to strengthen my legs. They have no stamina.
Walk --- at least 20 to 30 minutes a day. I don't mean amble, I mean WALK. Your whole body will get a workout.
I go to the gym and on the treadmill, I can do a mile in 20 minutes or less. Get that heartrate up.

I'm down 9 lbs in 3 weeks. Trying to be better at potion control, not eating after dinner and trying to walk for a hour in the evening(not every evening).Plus started drinking Kombucha regularly.Helps with digestion.

Congrats, mike!!!!!
I've heard of that stuff, always wondered what it was.

My jeans are fitting a tiny bit different again. I can button them straight out of the dryer and after they stretch, they are just starting to fall down. Might need a belt soon.

I have not weighed myself lately. I don't have a scale, going to have to get one.

By last summer I had put on a bunch of weight and was getting fed up with myself. I felt like I tried to eat healthy, but it wasn't doing any good. By late July I weighed 230 lbs, my highest weight ever. I read about people having success with intermittent fasting and committed to try it. There are many versions of that diet; one popular version has you eating normally five days a week and 'fasting' the other two, which means you eat 500-600 calories. I have been eating normally one day and fasting the next every other day like clockwork for a little over six months. As of this morning I weigh 186 lbs and have lost 44 lbs. I had started to work out again as well, but have been sick with a nasty cold for almost three weeks and had to stop. Ready to get back on that. My goal weight for now is 175 lbs, but I'll see what that looks and feels like when I get there.

Holy smokes, that's awesome dude. Well done!

I only eat from 12 pm-8 pm every day. So you fast for 16 hours each day. It's really easy.

I haven't been doing as well the past week. I went and got groceries yesterday so the food in the apartment is healthier now. I'm sick of salad so I won't be having that.

I'd like to make some chili and I'm restocked on protein shakes, those help.

I've heard of that version, and think it might be a good method to maintain weight once I get to my goal.

I’m lucky as hell. I’m a hardcore foodie and I can eat whatever I want and not gain weight. It’s actually difficult for me to gain weight. I lose weight if I miss meals.

Are you a cigarette smoker? They are like that.

Lisa - I know what ya mean about salads. They do get tiring. Dumping chicken on it helps.

I would have a few words for you if this was in the Podium.:bounce::dual9mm::bounce::dual9mm::owquitit:

Awesome Lisa, keep it up

I was like that too, then I quit smoking and I have probably put on close to 20lbs.........in less than a year.

But Its good though, Ive always been very thin, stig like really, so a little weight is good, just not in the belly

Your metabolism change quite a bit when you quit smoking, it doesn't process calories and food the same.

Great accomplishment, Lisa. The hard part is losing weight. The hardest part is keeping from gaining it back. You'll be fine.

I quit smoking in Oct 2013 or 1,536 days ago if you're keeping score.:)
Haven't gained or lost any weight although I admit I could stand to lose a few pounds. .
My downfall is having a sweet tooth.

The low carb thing really seems to work for me, whizzer. I'll keep doing it even after I get to my goal weight. It is a great plan and you can even cheat a little sometimes. :)

Great to see you btw. :)

I gained 2 lbs.

I haven't posted about my breathing problems but I've been wheezing when I walk, even with an inhaler. Today, my Dr gave me 2 different inhalers to try. I went and had blood drawn. I have to go have a chest x-ray and an EKG done. I go back in a week.

Just trying to figure out what is going on with my lungs. Trudy said if I can't breathe, it makes it hard to lose weight.

Chili? To me, chili is one of the major food groups. Had some "award winning chili" on Wednesday. Each year a charter boat captain holds a chili cook-off in Englewood and the place that won the contest is where my Bride and I went for lunch. DAMN! But it was good!! The measure of a good chili is if it burns coming out as much as it did going in, it is good chili!!

Mine was a little too spicy for my taste but it was still really good. I could have chili every week and health wise, it isn't bad. The beans have carbs but they are good carbs.
