See any good movies lately?

I've managed to not see any of them in the theater or anywhere for that matter. I'm okay with that.
The first movie I ever saw in a theater was Return of the Jedi. In the summer of 1983, my mother took a 7-year old Yoda to see Yoda and others on the big screen.

I think the elevator pitch for this was "Jason Statham does Jaws"

I'm not sure what I just watched

Watched American Made the night before last.

"The plot focuses on Barry Seal (played by Tom Cruise), a former TWA pilot who flew missions for the CIA, and became a drug smuggler for the Medellín Cartel in the 1980s. In order to avoid jail time, Seal became an informant for the DEA."

It is a very entertaining movie that also stays true to the story. ;)

Watched Black Panther last night. Very disappointed. I didn't expect it to be the greatest movie ever, as many critics said it was, but I actually expected it to be a great movie.

I can't get excited for comic book movies anymore. Too many of them, and to me the "cinematic universe" thing has made them all rather formulaic. I liked it when there were radically different takes on different characters and stories, for better and worse.

I tried to watch it last Tuesday also expecting a great movie, Redbox is my friend, but only got about a 1/4 of the way through. It was terrible.

A Quiet Place

A film by Jim Halpert. I was impressed with it.

Saw "Adrift" tonight, went into it with pretty low expectations but it was actually a very good movie.
When we were racing in Bristol last week I watched it one night and I thought it was a pretty good movie also. I didn't care that much for Ocean 8 though.

Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron rocked! Seriously, I thought Charlize playing this kind of role would be just a cheesy joke but damn was I wrong. Two thumbs up from me. Forgot to mention the soundtrack was awesome as well.

Yep. I really liked the twists at the end.

Just saw Game Night. It was actually better than I expected it to be.

Also saw Truth or Dare the other night. I was really hoping it would be better that the reviews it received, but that wasn't the case. I just wasn't a fan.

Some friends with middle school kids came over and I let the kids pick a movie from redbox. It was "Ready Player One" and surprised me at how good it was. A futuristic mostly CGI romp and stomp but it kept me entertained.

Saw The Meg last night. Basically Sharknado with a bigger budget. It as pretty cool to see in 3D though.

Watched Equalizer 2 last week with, I will just say it was half as good as the first one, but, it was good. For the money, wait till on stream.

I love everything about this franchise. The twist in E2 caught me
off guard and I did not see that coming. It was a good 2 hours on the
big screen for me. I did it on the $5.00 Tuesday though.:)

Just watched an older Adam Sandler movie that I didn't even know existed until I came across it while browsing Netflix. It's called Reign Over Me and it's hard to describe my feelings towards it. It wasn't bad, but it was also kind of weird and kind of boring. I think it just proves that the drama genre isn't meant for Adam Sandler.

Saw "Christopher Robin" a couple of weeks ago. A truly delightful movie.
And it's really not a little kid movie. I think they would enjoy it, but it's more for adults who grew up with the Pooh stories.
