At least Mercedes seems to be back on pace somewhat. It will be interesting to see what Vettel does with two hungry Mercs on his ass.

Not my favorite track but let's do this.
 
F1 has been a very easy coverage for Crash Stats so far this year
 
I honestly really dig this track, despite how much I doubted it before its first event two years. Both good overtaking opportunities and a lot of really challenging technical bits, and minimal to no runoff area in a lot of places.

Vettel looked lost on Friday but he did a great job working up to pole to today. Kimi choked the pole away big time though.

The track ate him alive today. He went off track like 3 times in qualifying I think.

Qualifying today wasn't very stable. Seem like every few minutes there were yellow sectors and whatnot.

The only part I like about this track is the long home stretch and the tricky curve coming into the castle turn or whatever they call it.
 
Looking forward to a repeat of last year's race.

Had to do it the hard way. I like him a lot. Hard and clean racer.

Romain Grosjean is F1's version of NASCAR's Kasey Kahne.

The race did not impressed. Not much actual racing.

Too many crashes. Why did F1 not red flag the race?
 
Hamilton lucks into one, but that's F1. Feel for Bottas, that race felt right into Bottas's lap and a piece of debris right in the racing line ruins him

13 cars finished lol. Almost enough for Marcus Ericsson to actually score a point!

Ferrari have their best car in at least a decade and they're going to lose the title again because reasons. Just wait until Mercedes can figure out how to get the car to work with the tires, these points Ferrari give away are going to bite them.
 
Charles Leclerc finished 6th. o_O

Safe to say at this point that Baku is the most bizarre track on the calendar.
 
This one had a bizarre feel to it all weekend. No surprise a lot of weird stuff happened. It was kind of outer limits last year too.

Probably fitting that Hamilton backed into it, which kind of offsets the way he lost Australia. Part of being a champion is knowing you can't win every time, and when it's not your weekend you take what you can get. Sometimes that's good enough for a win if everyone else self destructs, and that's what happened today.

Poor Vettel has gotten the hose from yellow flags two races in a row. He should have won China, and was set to win today before the yellow.

The drivers complain about the circuit's safety and then spend the whole race running into each other. Imagine how much fun it would have been in the rain.
 
Would you guys say I'm on a hot streak with these race threads? I'm 4 for 4 in the "wtf is gonna happen and who will be the next random winner" race. :D

Too bad there aren't a lot of F1 fans or we could have a lot of fun with these.

13th is a respectable finish in a Sauber! Not even sure how it was possible for Leclerc to get a 6th.

I'm not sure Ferrari is giving away anything. It's more like they are getting the hose by an ill timed yellow when they are on their way to winning. I do agree you can't give points away at any time of the season.

It never gives us a dull race. It always seems to give us a weird race, but it's never dull.
