They got Larson

I would have been shocked at any other outcome. Who's next to try this little trick? Maybe they are all doing it, but only the unlucky few get caught? :idunno:

Makes you wonder if they really look at video from race, jeez!

Still no consistency with the points docked I see.
You have posted this before, but I don't understand your beef...?

https://www.autosport.com/nascar/news/135345/elliott-gets-second-points-penalty-for-violation

Hendrick Motorsports's Chase Elliott has been hit with a penalty for a violation during last weekend's Texas race that has cost him 20 points in the NASCAR Cup series standings.

Elliott's #9 Chevrolet Camaro violated sections 20.4.8.1 of NASCAR's rulebook, which relates to a rear brace support, because his rear window did not meet the specifications that demand the glass is rigid in all directions.

Stewart-Haas Racing's Kevin Harvick was hit with the same penalty last month and it led to him accusing the series of being on a "slippery slope" with its penalties, as he felt social media had caused his punishment.

It is the second time this season that Elliott has lost points due to penalties. He lost 25 points following the Phoenix round for an infraction linked to the rear suspension, trailing arm angles and pinion angle shims.

Yes, that video showed it was a result of contact with Blaney. It is not like he ran the whole race this way...only the last few laps. 20 points seem excessive.

When scientifically considering the Centrifics, the Yaw, and the Vortex, it is all to obvious.
Blaney obviously bumped him to trigger the three factors above to distort's Larsons window, and to draw the cucumber.

The Sheeple just left thinking Blaney got a little to eager and he played it well with the apology too. It was a strategic maneuver.

It's amazing to me, the thought process of these guys. Especially in the case of Chase and Larson. What did they think was going to happen had they actually pulled those cars into victory lane? Lol

Welcome to NASCAR Cup racing. The race to who can get the most encumbered wins.

Also I don’t buy any of the golly gee routine. There’s obviously something to be gained by collapsing half the rear windshield, that’s worth getting an L1 penalty from NASCAR.

It’s blatantly trying to gain an advantage. No friggin way the contact with the 12 caused that. The 31 had a car on top of it and didn’t have a window issue post race.

Have you never been in an accident where forces were distributed to other sections of the vehicle? I hit a deer square on the center of my bumper, and both fenders were creased, even though the bumper cover didn’t move back far enough to break the crappy little fasteners that hold the bumper on. That was the core support moving ever so slightly and forcing the fenders to flex. I was going 45MPH. If I were going 170 plus, guaranteed the windshield would gave spidered and deflected.

Easy answer. Larson’s car was damaged due to contact. You can’t build a car out of black box material. It will change geometry when damaged and cause all sorts of things to not line up properly. No one can build a car to deflect in a certain area when it gets damaged. There are too many variables that prevent that from happening.
They need to make the braces from spring steel so window bends when under load then springs back up for inspection.
Now that is thinking outside the box. If you can do the R&D to make that happen, you could have a job with any top tier team. Great idea.

No because that wasn’t a “crash”. They came together and bent some sheet metal on the 42 behind the left rear tire. But the arguement is moot as all you need to do is look at the pic shared by KTM that it was flexing BEFORE contact.

Some people are so lazy that they just copy other peoples ideas. This is true even when they get caught cheating. Car chiefs need to be able to say "NO" when a CC tells them to cheat.
Car chiefs are not the problem and they should not be the ones paying the penalty.
Fine "Team Owners" like they did MW and it will stop real fast. About $250,000 the first time
and add $50,000 each repetitive offence. hat means HMS will have paid $550,00 for the #9 repetitive attempt to cheat.

I have Adobe photoshop too. It’s a really good application.

If you tilt your head just so to the left, you can read Larson.

Same thing with Blaney. It’s because the picture is at an angle. ..But yeah we all knew this penalty was coming. Lmao.

notice how when the 42 did this they were fast in the race compared to the rest of the chevys. Also take note that the last time the 9 car was fast in a race, they had a monkeyed rear window as well. The 42 car also to me looked like the front windshield was even bowing a bit too. This must be a huge advantage. Its easy just watch this during the race and park them if there is a problem spotted. Imagine all the other guys that have figured out how to make the roof go back right at the end of the race.

It seems that there is growing sentiment to make the penalties stronger - certainly the key media seem to think it it justified.

I wonder if it’s gonna be crew chief suspensions? A one race penalty for the crew chief has to be worse on a team than a two race suspension and on the car chief - I would think.

I suppose upping the point penalty could also encourage compliance, especiallly as the season progresses and just a few guys getting all of the wins.

In post 14, Scott Miller talked about ramping up the L1 penalty if teams didn't cut it out.

L1 penalties concern areas of minimum heights and weights, the Laser Inspection Station (LIS), gear ratios, and flagrant lug nut violations where 17 or fewer are properly secured. Penalties will be a 10-40 point deduction, suspension for 1-3 races, plus a fine up to $75,000.

Mandate an additional support. If the distortion still occurs, keep adding supports until the drivers start complaining they can't see out the back.

If all parties agree that this was the result of contact, then why aren't they appealing this???? I call BS.
I guess they'd rather be viewed as a suspected cheater than known an admitted one. Especially to save face with their sponsors.

It's honestly just another example of how they treat the viewers like we're too dumb to know any better. And we all knew it as soon as Rodney opened his mouth post-Vegas.
