2018 NASCAR Truck Thread

That's so much B.S. Moffitt won the last race with one and all of his 5 wins but one was won with a motor that was supposed to have at least 40 HP less than a spec NT-1 engine. he probably doesn't want a hard look teardown.
They added HP to the NT1 for Texas and Homestead though. Phoenix too, but they felt comfortable running the Cronquist/JGR engine because of the shifting/RPM advantages.

It's not like GMS has been disadvantaged by the NT1 either.

that's their story. Reading between the lines one could say that Yota upped their HP, Moffit had won 4 races with it and that could have happened once maybe, but 4 times including when they upped the HP for the NT-1? B.S. all kinds of fishy.

Why does it matter what engine they run, you do what you can to win and they are doing it.

I believe it is going to be one to watch, Moffitt, Haley, Sauter and Gragson and the rest of em aren't going to lay down.

Opinion: The excuses ran out and Hattori Racing validated their season with a NASCAR Trucks championship
In the case of the No. 16 team, the haters were their motivators.

"You know, as the season went on, it didn't bother us, but it became more and more of a joke," Moffitt said of the detractors. "They complained about our engines and got NASCAR to make rule changes that actually hurt us and we still won at Phoenix.

"And then the guy that ran seventh decided to complain about our engine even after he got beat by like five or six other Ilmor motors. We all had an Ilmor tonight, and I’m not sure where he finished, but he didn't beat us, so I don't know what his excuse is now."

Boring race, and I'm glad all the talk about the under funded team is over.

Two trucks battling for the lead for 20 something laps was a real yawner. I honestly don't know why some people subject themselves to such torturous behavior watching auto racing. I don't care to watch people running up and down a field with a ball in their hands, and I sure wouldn't spend the time to watch a game and then find a stick n ball forum and tell everybody how bad I thought it was. I would question my sanity if I did.

Never understood the everything sucks mentality of NASCAR "fans". A race is a race and if there is a race I'm happy and if its competitive I'm very happy. The same people who complain about the race being boring end up being the ones who complain when NASCAR makes changes to try to change things.

Loved those last laps. I enjoyed the underfunded team putting a whooping on them big buck teams!

Great season last year I thought, plenty of hard racing to watch, and a little team that did won the series. Hopefully this kind of thing can spread to the other series sometimes.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Champion - Brett Moffitt - Read more about Moffitt HERE
Race Wins - Brett Moffitt & Johnny Sauter - 6
Laps Led - Noah Gragson - 625
Top Fives - Johnny Sauter - 14
Top 10s - Justin Haley - 18
Poles - Noah Gragson - 6

It is either that or they don't want a single truck privateer team to have a running chance to beat their 4 truck factory team

Yeah, David is all about the spec motor. Do some research.

LOL, and a little team that had to have TRD resources to purchase the spec motor after NASCAR screwed them on the cheaper OEM. Oh yeah, keep the grassroots, pull up your sleeves and work hard narrative going. It isn't that. OEM should have been under that hood, but NASCAR manipulated that because Johnny Sauter won't shut up. They win with the Cronquist piece, and there is a ****storm on their hands. Whatever. You want to spread this?

Thank TRD. They wouldn't have had a truck on the track without them. The spec motor came from TRD money I am sure. The underfunded team is an illusion--they would have been a defunct team without TRD commitment while GM and Ford let NASCAR bring the competition back to them without paying a dime--like usual....and then NASCAR reaps the rewards of the "little team that could" narrative. What complete bull****. This is a hot button for TRD. I don't know how much they should take before they bail on the truck series. NASCAR owes them. They are the only manufacturer who chose to spend money on the series, and then kicks them in the balls. If it wasn't for the driver development program, Toyota would be gone....and they should be. I wish they would go now.

Twinkle toes 4 trucks all running Primaries that are subs of Toyota. And HRE running a primary of a Japanese company. :cuckoo:

Revman, is this just talk about buying the championship? Or did Toyota actually have a secret deal with Nascar? Maybe your secret deal expired. Sorry, I think you actually have to win the big trophy, not buy it.
