This weeks NASCAR Fan Council survey

no way of proving it, but I think the latest playoff idea came from the networks, sure seemed like NBC is all in about every other word worth. I'm pretty sure the stages came about as a compromise because the networks were smothering the races with commercials. There needs to be more work done there IMO but it was better this year.

On the NBC survey, I gave them an earful about NBC’s booth coverage, basically telling them that Jr. is the only one currently in the booth that’s worth keeping and that the others, ESPECIALLY Burton need to go.

Did anyone else notice the questions about Leigh Diffey? I couldn’t figure out why they are asking questions about him except that maybe they are considering bringing him in to replace Allen and are trying to get a gauge of what NASCAR fans think about him. That would be great if they did although they need to get rid of more than just Allen.

yup, tried joining a few years back and was dropped halfway thru signing up because of that. Maybe they need/want a more varied opinion

That reminds me, I need to buy some NASCAR Toques for Christmas Presents...

I just finished another sorta unusual one. And once again I gave'm hell.

I quit the fan council a couple years ago because the majority of the questions asked me to rate the start of the race, the middle of the race, and the end of the race; plus the same set of questions for the xfinity and truck races (I don't watch all the races but I had to answer to finish the survey).

Surveys in general are designed to elicit certain responses. Opened ended questions provide better information but it would be harder for them to make use of the information because they'd have to read it and interpret the information, a process that should use a person.

Guess they are desperate because they are taking us now
I tried and they would not accept my application. That was the same day someone posted what answer they got when we clicked on the site. I'll scroll back and see what happens.

OK got in and am now a member. Only problem when I signed was the videos won't play.:D

I'm doing the end of 2018/2019 expectations survey. More in-depth than normal, which I like, but some of these are weird - how much do I like or dislike the retirement of Kasey Kahne?

At the least, I'm glad they asked questions on the 2019 rules, but it's a little late for that...

Does the NFL have a Fan Council?

Does the NFL have a Fan Council?

I am not aware of any stick and ball sport having a fan council as I think they just appoint competent people to make competent decisions for the sport’s welfare.

Apparently the 2019 rules change was based upon favorable results the ASR received. IMO not enough data was collected to make such sweeping changes. Hopefully Nascar guessed correctly.

Are basic demographic questions asked on the survey? By that I mean age group, income level, education level etc.

Tell a big lie and tell it often and (some) people will believe it..and some never did.

The numbers bear this out: NASCAR is second only to the NFL in reaching millennials, reaching five times as many millennials as MLS per event. Approximately half of the social media audiences of NASCAR-owned accounts are millennials, according to Nielsen Scarborough.

According to NASCAR Fan Council research, two out of three avid NASCAR fans ages 18+ like the stage-racing format and feel it makes races better. Three out of four avid NASCAR fans 18-34 like stage racing, indicating a positive sign for the future of the sport with millennials.

I'm officially now a member of the fan council

I gave up on the council several years ago, Like Zerk and Charlie I grew tired of answering their tedious questions. plus year after year I never saw them implement any changes suggested by fans.

I can’t imagine anyone lying about Nascar demographics as they are available online and they are what they are.

IDK how many millennials are fans of Nascar or follow Nascar on social media but they need a crap load more. We know they don’t watch or stream in any significant numbers and we know the same is true concerning attending races or buying merchandise. With the losses Nascar has taken over the last several years we know that people of all ages are abandoning ship at a much faster rate than new fans are coming aboard. Many of us would like to see Nascar level off.

The only problem is that we are talking a very low number of fans.

I don’t blame you
