Offseason topic 2: favorite driver catch phrase

I duno why ppl hate it so much.. to me it's the sound of a new season starting

Because it's incredibly stupid sounding and makes NASCAR and it's fans sound like a bunch of stupid rednecks. Could you imagine the lead TV analyst of ANY other major sport uttering something like that at the beginning of an event? If I were running Fox Sports back in 2001, I would have called Darrell on the Monday morning after Daytona and told him if he EVER uttered that phrase in a Fox TV booth again, he'd be on the street. Whoever allowed boogity boogity to survive and whoever came up with that stupid Digger should blackballed from ever holding a job with a TV network again.

Jeff Gordon “Go faster and you wont have that problem” to Tony Stewart at Watkins Glen.

Also shoutout to his radio comm to Ray after cursing on the radio.

Ray: “I thought you were a churchy guy”
Jeff: “Not on Sundays”

I LOVE LOVE SRs "
"I was just trying to tap him, <insent good natured southern laugh> rattle his cage a bit"
I dont like him, but "everythings great" by KDB is second.
Ward Burton recited several of Dale's lines when he put Dale in the wall to win a race. I thought it was pretty funny.

Kimi Raikkonen isn't Nascar but too funny to miss imo.

Martin Brundle: “Kimi, you missed the presentation by Pele.”
Kimi Raikkonen: “Yeah.”
MB: “Will you get over it?”
KM: “Yeah. I was having a sh*t.”

“Leave me alone, I know what I’m doing.”

(Helmets get a lot attention with the special color designs, promotions, yip yap.. etc)
Jeremy Clarkson “The helmet has a special significance for many drivers,” Clarkson asked. “How important is it for you?”
Kimi Raikkonen "It protects my head"

Lewis Hamilton once described winning his first race as being “better than sex.” Another reporter informed Kimi of this.
Kimi’s response? “Maybe he has never had sex.”
Let's be honest, you could make an entire thread devoted to golden nuggets from Kimi Raikkonen.

"Everybody thinks Michael's (Waltrip) this good guy. He's not the good guy like he acts he is. The caution was out, and he wrecked me. And, he's a piece of (expletive)." - Robby Gordon

Darrell Waltrip when he was driving and before he started trying to be a nice guy.

"What goes around, comes around"

Have to watch Rusty dump JG but then you get to the "It's pretty obvious, you tell me!"

"Everybody thinks Michael's (Waltrip) this good guy. He's not the good guy like he acts he is. The caution was out, and he wrecked me. And, he's a piece of (expletive)." - Robby Gordon
For as unsuccessful as his NASCAR venture was, Robby Gordon was one heck of a character!

Maybe some of you don't care for this movie, but I will watch it every chance I get.

Harry Hogge
: All right. While we're still under a caution, I want you to go back out on that track and hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle: Hit the pace car?
Harry Hogge: Hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle: What for?
Harry Hogge: Because you've hit every other gd thing out there, I want you to be perfect.

No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you... he rubbed you. And rubbin, son, is racin'.
That movie was god aweful lol

It treated the viewers as non-nascar fans who needed a cartoonish kindergarden level understanding of what the culture of the sport is. After these scenes you quoted here, I had to stop watching the movie the first time around. Even 12 year old me felt insulted by that lol

"I'm gonna have nightmares about kids eating free." - Kevin Harvick

"I'v never caused a riot before winning....well....maybe once or twice"- Jeff Gordon

Bobby Allison was leading the Coke 600 when a lapped car took him out, TV caught him standing by his car surveying the damage in the garage area and the guy asked him . "Bobby what do you have to do to the car to get back out there" Bobby shot back "Fix it"!! They cut back to the guys in the booth after He said that and they all were laughing thier asses off!

" Dirt's made for racin', asphalt is made for roads to get you to the track". Red Farmer

"and all you haters -- I see you" Harvick

There was also a race this year that Kyle Bush won and when the camera panned his way he feigned rubbing tears out of his eyes for all of his haters. I don't like Kyle Busch but that was reall funny haha!

“Inches only count when you’re playing horseshoes and hand grenades. I don’t want to play either with that clown.”
