NASCAR 2019 - Bold Prediction Thread

Jack Rousch sells interest in team and exits NASCAR.
A 1st tier team folds before the end of the season due to sponsor woes.
RPM scores a premier sponsor and sees competitive surge.

@Hawaii808

I'll take "sponsor woes" to mean a lack of a sponsor and "competitive surge" to mean a rise in the point standings but define for me:

1) "a 1st tier team"
2) "a premier sponsor"

Final decision..

At least 2 of "The Big 3" (Harvick, Kyle Busch and Truex) will not make the final four in 2019.

And

Martin Truex Jr. will finish the 2019 season with the lowest average finish of the JGR drivers.

1) Yes, specifically the loss of a sponsor (I'm looking at you CGR, but it could happen to others).
2) A substantial rise in the points standing, let's call it "top 15" (My own hopeful thinking, I'd like to see Bubba make some noise).

@Hawaii808

The "sponsor woes" and the "competitive surge" parts of your prediction I can work with.

However, I need clarification as to what "a 1st tier team" and "a premier sponsor" mean.

Those terms are too vague.

As somewhat vague predictions continue to be submitted, those that lack specificity will simply not be accepted.

I'll respond to those unacceptable predictions with a simple post that includes the prognosticators name so as to trigger an "alert" in the upper right corner of his forum page. Without clarification, the vague prediction won't make the final list.

If a prediction is judged to be acceptable you'll find that I "like" it.

In addition to being specific, a prediction also must be something that can be "easily" verified.

Last year's predictions included a very specific one related to pit stop times. It wasn't accepted, however, due to the lack of readily available information regarding the elapsed time of each and every pit stop.

As stated in a previous post, if you make a prediction and then follow it up with another one, specify if the follow-up prediction is in place of, or in addition to, the earlier prediction.

Finally, my original post stated that "predictions must concern events that happen from the time that the green flag flies at Daytona until the checkered flag flies at Homestead."

Instead, so as to include NASCAR related shenanigans happening prior to racing at Daytona, I'll accept any prediction that concerns an event that happens anytime after the prediction is made up until the season champion is determined at the end of the season.

Granted, Byron winning his first race was previously predicted but, like yours, it was part of a multiple-part prediction and not a stand alone prediction.

So your original prediction is acceptable if you'd like to stick with it.
I’ll just go with 1.) Jeffrey Earnhardt wins an Xfinity Series Race in Joe Gibbs Racing Equipment as my 2019 Bold Prediction

1) Kasey Kahne races in at least 1 race in a National Series (All-Star race included)

2) Minimum of 4 first time winners in the truck series

3) Kurt Busch misses the playoffs for CGR and announces his retirement

Trevor Bayne will manage to find a ride for at least one race and will get at least one victory.

@Brentford

Unless you indicate otherwise, I'll take that to mean at least one race and at least one win in the Monster Energy Cup Series.

@kkfan91

By "National Series" I take that to mean any of the following: Gander Outdoors Truck, Xfinity, or Monster Energy Cup

1 - Blaney wins at least 3 races
2 - Kryle gets championship #2
And the boldest one of all.....
3 - only 1 cup race will be bumped due to rain.

2019 NASCAR Champion Chase Elliott wins seven or more races, including Homestead.
My prediction this year is the exact same as last year. Maybe I'll nail it this year. :D

@Big John Kordic

By "bumped" I'll take that to mean to a later date and not just a delayed start on the scheduled date.

Gotcha, pull mine out. Heck one just happened.

No points paying Cup race will be extended beyond the advertised distance into a period of "Overtime"

1) Kasey Kahne races in at least 1 race in a National Series (All-Star race included)

2) Minimum of 4 first time winners in the truck series

3) Kurt Busch misses the playoffs for CGR and announces his retirement

@kkfan91

Upon further review it appears that you've made four predictions as "Kurt Busch misses the playoffs for CGR and announces his retirement" is actually two separate predictions.

Something has gotta go . . . .

Rouch-Fenway wins at least one MECS race. That's BOLD that's very BOLD
