NASCAR 2019 - Bold Prediction Thread

I predict Kyle Busch will wreck his team mate Martin Truex at least twice this season. Wreck meaning damage that slows Truex's pace down or takes him out of the race.

@StandOnIt

Like the prediction last year that dealt with pit stop times, this is an example of a very specific prediction that would be difficult, if not impossible, to verify.

I can take "wreck meaning damage that slows Truex's pace . . ." to mean damage to Truex's car caused by contact initiated by Busch.

But where is one able to verify such an incident, as well as the predicted after effects to Truex.

I really like the prediction, and could easily see it happening, but only if I watched every part of each and every race . . . ..

you don't think that would make the highlight reel? uh ok.
So your predicting there will be highlights of Kyle hard racing Truex. That's not Bold, hasn't Kyle messed with every team mate? That is the one thing I like about Kyle, he races everybody.

One more BOLD prediction : Rockingham Speedway will be announced during the 2019 season that it will return to the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity/Trucks Schedule on a back to back stand-alone weekend.
Okay, that one is definitely up there with last year's winner. If it comes true, I'll buy your ticket.

Is there a trophy for the winner? :D
Yep. This is last years winner.

CONGRATS TO @Snappy D !!

I’ll just go with 1.) Jeffrey Earnhardt wins an Xfinity Series Race in Joe Gibbs Racing Equipment as my 2019 Bold Prediction

@Snappy D

Is this meant to be a serious addition to your earlier prediction or just one of those fun predictions.

1. Denny Hamlin will lose his ride at the end of 2019.
2. A winless driver will make the final four.
3. Ryan Preece will finish at least three places higher than team-mate Chris Buescher in the final standings.

I thought the Rockingham prediction was less of a Hail Mary than my Jeffrey Earnhardt one. I’m surprised this!

1. Denny Hamlin will lose his ride at the end of 2019. EXPECTED
2. A winless driver will make the final four. AGAIN
3. Ryan Preece will finish at least three places higher than team-mate Chris Buescher in the final standings.
I SHOULD HOPE SO.

:sarcasm:

The Earnhardt one is just another 'Driver X will win Y number of races' prediction. It may or may not be BOLD, but there's nothing unique about it. The Rock prediction sounds like you actually put some thought into it.

Or, like the guy who made the "Danica Patrick will announce her plans to become a NASCAR team owner" prediction,
maybe somebody's got an inside scoop. :D

12 rain races

@4tires17gals

I can only assume that by "rain races" you mean races that are postponed by rain.

However, if that's what you're saying do you mean rain causes a race to be postponed after the race has started or postponed before the start of a race to a later start time or a later start date . . . . . or all of the above ?

To date, predictions have been accepted from 43 players, with many going with the multiple prediction option.

For the sake of clarity I've made some minor changes to a number of predictions and these changes are shown in parenthesis.

These clarifications typically involve the number of times something is predicted to happen such as "Joe Blow wins (at least) 2 races" as I presume the prediction isn't meant to mean "Joe Blow wins (exactly) 2 races."

If any of my changes have adversely changed your prediction just let me know and we'll get it straightened out.

I really appreciate you doing this again this year. It's a helluva lot of work and a lot of fun to play. :cheers:

There will be no "Big ones" in all 4 RP (Daytona, Talladega) cup races this year

@slash14

I know what the intention of your prediction is regarding crashes at a restrictor plate race but how exactly is one to define a "big one."

I'm gonna amend mine so I can squeeze more out.

Daniel Suarez will win at least two races next year AND
Jimmie Johnson will win at least three races next year AND
Kurt Busch will go winless.

my 2nd bold prediction is chad and byron will win more races than johnson.
3rd larson will have a great year with more 5 or more wins

Just for my clarification, does this include strictly 'true' road courses or will races announced for other 'Rovals' meet your criteria?
I think the Roval and others of this type will fall within the Road course category.
Anything with both left and right turns ( not those sawing on the wheel) will be considered by most.

NASCAR announces that the number of road races will at least double.

Unless there is some clarification by @DIDIT, I've got to agree with @Team Penske on this one.

Which means that there are currently 3 road races on the Cup schedule and for the prediction to be true they'll have to announce the addition of at least 3 more.
