Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Good article from early 1994 about Rudd leaving Hendrick to form his own team. Worth the read.....

I really enjoy reading old articles like this years/decades later. It's a shame Rudd's team didn't last into the new millennium. It's also kind of ironic that the 5 team won a championship with Terry just a few years after Rudd left.

Has there been an announcement on any changes in penalties for cheating? Noting the major violations last year and how those caught still were allowed to gain points through their violations the currently system is discouraging teams from breaking rules in areas that NASCAR has stated are not to be touched. I thought that NASCAR was going to do something about it.

If I missed an announcement, can someone provide a link to what NASCAR announced?

Nascar usually announces that stuff in January

You thinking getting mean like Harvick disqualified from the chase because of the spoiler? :D

I agree that if the penalty is big enough,Teams will stay within the rules. One thing for sure is if you fail inspection twice "You Go Home" will stop a lot of foolishness and make inspections much quicker.:D

That would work as long as they impound the cars after inspection at the track. No more working on them after inspection. I'd be good with that.

I wish they'd go back to racing there during the hotter months. It's not the most comfortable day for the fans but it's no worse than what I sit thru in Daytona every year. Not sure what the point of keeping the old surface is if you're going to race on it in 40 degree temps.
