SiriusXM's NASCAR Radio - Today's, not so hidden, agenda.....

I hear you....I really do....but that's not Kyle, and it's never gonna be. That's why we have Jimmie Johnson. If NASCAR doesn't want Kyle's voice, then why the hell did they put him on the podium? Pretty sure Kyle wasn't screaming for air time.....
We are all in this together, its not us against him. We need to let things play out.

What are the changes? Haven't heard, but I was jacked about your post until I found out Bagley and Pistone remain. This morning really bad. Talking about sh!t they don't understand, and criticizing Kyle Busch for being critical of the package. Idiots.

Bagley and Pistone think Nascar can do no wrong, same as Chocolate .

I disagree as I don’t think we are in anything together or separate. I think that Kyle or any other driver should feel free to state his mind at anytime and we don’t need to let things play out in order to opine what we see now.

Actually lately I don't mind listening to chocolate and Jack Arute. Those 2 combine to tell some good stories. Download it and listen on demand so I dont have to listen to the commercials

He can state his mind all he wants to the right people, but when he starts popping his chops and it possibly hurts my business Im gonna put his ass on notice.

All Kyle said was anyone can drive the car. Brian France has done way more damage with his chops than any driver ever has.

BTW, just how many people are going to stop watching Nascar due to Kyle’s comment?

If its one its unexceptable, thats all he needs to know. Period. As for Brian France, its his business. When Kyle runs his own sport he can do what he wants.

It sounds like it’s more a problem of you and others disliking Kyle and wanting to muzzle him more than anything else.
I guarantee you at the end of the year when we are looking at the hundreds of thousands of people per race that didn’t watch this year versus last it won’t have anything to do with Kyle.

here's to hoping you are one of them

You can go off subject but I wont. He keeps his mouth shut or I hurt him where it counts.

So the truth is out. Some of us have known it all along.
But why should we believe anything anyone says in connection to Nascar. Be it a driver, crew chief anyone.
Especially a Nascar official.
Thanks Spotter22. You just said it is all propaganda and only positive spin can be told to the masses. The heck with having a Frank and honest discussion.
That is why Nascar radio is just like state run radio in Russia.
Doesn't anyone remember the come to Jesus meeting Brian had a few years ago with the owners, drivers and certain media. He told them all what the message should be.

We can discuss it till the cows come home, having a top tier driver run your sport in the ground with childish comments wont fly with people who make a living doing this. Its stupid and irresponsible of Busch to do that.

I want you to get up at your next company meeting and tell them all everything that is wrong with the company..hopefully with the press there ok?

I would love to hear the roasting Nascar would get if it fined Kyle for saying what he did. The late night comedians would have a field day.

You think hes above the sport? He wouldnt be the first one who got put in his place.

I agree that no one should run down their sport or business.
But do you all want a Chocolate Myers who every Monday says that was the greatest race he ever saw or a Micheal Waltrip.
A person can speak their mind without running down their sport.
Some of us want an honest answer. And some of you want everything to have PR spin to it. Maybe that is Nascars problem if all everybody wants is YES Men.

That isn't what happened IMO, you obviously disagree. It's one thing after a driver has been wrecked in the heat of the battle to call out Nascar to do something, but this was the first trial of the first testing run. You might think that was an honest opinion. but like I said you go ahead and get up in front of your bosses and tell them their latest prototype model is junk and see where it goes.

Are the posts here archived and retrievable? In fact if Revman wants to he can confirm this.

In regard to Kyle's comments.....Not really sure what negative impact they would have. He gave ammunition to the haters, and his fans already knew what he thought. I really do hear what you are saying @Spotter22, but Kez's "Rude Awakening" comment at Michigan in 2017 wasn't much different IMO as it was just a few weeks before the Playoffs. I will go a step further with this....Kez said that drivers would look for other places to challenge themselves if this package came to be. I think that is even more damaging than anything Kyle has said as it suggests that a multitude of drivers are bitching. As I mentioned, I'm not sure who all of these comments will influence....they entertain me, but they do not sway me. I love this freaking sport, and I will be in the stands a minimum of twice a year. Period. I will watch every damn race. Period.....and most importantly....I will love every damn race because it's a damn race. It might have a winner by 10 seconds, it might be neck and neck....I don't give a ****. It's a race, and that's good enough for me......even better if one of MY TRD powered Toyotas win. :D

anyway,

I appreciated KyBu’s first impressions, and look forward to his (and others) evolving opinions.

Drivers giving their honest opinion on car performance as a different formula is being implemented — is both relevant and NASCAR owes its remaining fans that access to drivers so they can be heard. IMHO :)

Lets say 5 or 6 drivers came out and said the same thing as Kyle. Now here you are sitting on the fence as to whether or not buy tickets to a race. Could it possibly change your decision

That's a good question.....and where is the line between the company line and authenticity? I'm going to say this again....Why the hell did NASCAR give Kyle the podium? We all knew what he would say, and we have all seen him do everything he can to avoid the media so it's not like he was begging for the mic. I think some of this stuff might stir interest. Indifference is the enemy in everything IMO.

Can only speak for myself but I've never factored a drivers thoughts as to the difficulty or non-difficulty of driving the car a a decision maker for me purchasing a ticket to a race. Speed also has never been a part of my decision in purchasing a ticket. They could be racing lawn mowers for all I care. If it's a sport I'm interested in and it entertains me, I'm there.

Ditto. If we had listened to the naysayers we wouldn't have attended and enjoyed the Eldora truck races and many other events.

I think that we lose sight of the fact that while some (Many? All?) of us differ in the details, we love this stuff and continue to attend. Sometimes the naysayer voices get louder than they deserve. One week. Cars on track. Christmas.

And as a long time fan I agree that I will still go or watch. But there is a group out there who Nascar is trying to attract and having drivers say negative stuff about the new cars might make a difference. Not the way I feel but it might affect some

"The emperor has no clothes" is preferred to "Everything's Great"

KyBu was in an interview following a test -- it was an appropriate venue to provide critical assessment of the formula.

Do you think that potential, new fan even had a clue that there was testing going on in Vegas this week? I'm going to guess that fan was probably following along the storyline of the upcoming Superbowl this week. Or, maybe even the 2nd half of the NHL season that started this week along with the trade deadlines that brought fourth. Could even be the potential fan that's gearing up with spring training fodder. My only point is, you've got to already be an avid fan of this sport if you're paying any attention to what KDB spews after a preseason test @ Las Vegas Speedway.

There are groups out there who are negatively affected just waking up. This sport needs to ball up, and just be whatever it is, and quit trying to kiss the ass of those who desire it. I worry that this fringe fan base (if they even exist) are sitting back, and saying, "When you figure out what you are, I will consider you." Give me a damn package, and race it. Quit jacking the damn thing around. Kyle Busch isn't hurting anyone. Again (and I will say it again if I need to), I am betting that NASCAR gave him the podium. He didn't ask for it. Why? Why would they do that? Let that sink in.....

....or what Kez was spewing last year. If Kyle Busch is so damn important to this sport, why doesn't the sport listen to him? Maybe they should, and then he wouldn't be on the podium that the sanctioning body provided spreading his perception which is inconsistent with what NASCAR is hoping for. Want a certain narrative, control the narrative. Where the hell is Jimmie?
