...and in dramatic fashion. I didn't watch the race but have seen the last 2 lap clip. Apparently she dominated this race but there was restart with 2-3 laps to go...her teammate pushed her up the track to take the lead, she dumped him on the last lap and won.

Like I've said before, she's the first female I've seen race that gives no effs about who she is racing against or how to win a race.

Big equipment disparity in that series, calm down. Todd gilliland set the world on fire driving for that team. How has he done in a KBM truck since leaving? Kyle Busch says cant get it dine in my truck, you suck

Good to see this. Racing, especially NASCAR could use the additional exposure and fan interest from a solid weekly contender like Deegan. Hope she continues to do well.

Racing certainly could but K&N West isn't going to generate much exposure nationally or get interest from casual fans. Too far down the food chain.

It’s cool that she’s doing so well, but K&N is probably the 5th tier series in NASCAR. I’d say it goes Cup, Xfinity, Trucks, ARCA, then K&N. However, she’s currently 2nd in points in K&N West, if she ends up winning that series’ championship I think that would generate some buzz.

The Deegan clan have a large following on the west coast.
” … We went out there, (and) we ran our hardest race. In the end, Derek ran me hard right there so I was gonna run him hard back. In the end that’s racing. … In the end, I got the win and that’s all that matters.”

Interesting how Hailee Deegan gets a free pass for driving this way because people like her. I remember slightly different reactions when Hamlin dumped chase Elliott for a win and birth at homestead...
did you watch when Earnhardt Sr raced? One would come to the conclusion that some can't and some can get away with it.

Don't you think that's a problem though? All the drivers should be allowed to race the same way and judged by the same standard

Judged by who? This is a personality driven sports-entertainment where Fans and NASCAR Shill Media can express their approval and disapproval based on their own emotional and perhaps misguided fandom opinions, beliefs, causes, etc. :D

Now if NASCAR were penalizing drivers by using shifting standards, then I wholeheartedly agree. But NASCAR in its wisdom has been quite clear that this type of racing is allowed and even encouraged.

I only wish Deegan did this to MTJ or KyBu, so I could amuse myself by watching their sad face post-race interviews...

2 of her wins are from roughing up the leader pretty good. I'd say she's not building a very good rep early in her young career. Just my opinion tho.

She’s a hard charger. She does that stuff when she gets to the Truck Series and someone like Sauter will clean her out.

I don’t really have a problem with using the bumpers. The sport needs some drivers that are willing to mix it up. Just don’t be mad when someone pays you back.

Looks to me like the 16 cut across her nose

There is a big “equipment” disparity in every racing series on the planet.

What is your point?
It’s clear you don’t know the series very well. I can’t argue with you. I just told you about Todd gilliland sucking after leaving that team. Mcanally’s cars. Basically there is only about 5 cars capable of winning in that series in a given week. Mcnanally has by far the best cars, sunrise ford and bob bruncati is a step below them and only normally win when the mcanally cars have issues. Some people refuse reality here. The hauler driver could win in mcanally west series cars

She got pushed up the track and she tried to poke her nose in like Kraus did previously. Deegan left the door open, but Kraus did not leave any space for Deegan. She forced her way through, its hard racing for sure.

I hope she expects to get the bumper later on, because she's going to get all of it later on. I hope she's prepared for it.

Congrats to Hailie!!!

You folks watchout cause Hailie will be the one to save this sport when she moves up and starts winning races in the cup series she will be the next mega star and bring a whole new group of fans to Nascar who never watched it before and also will get sports shows like Skip Bayless and espn first take to actally talk Nascar on their shows.

sounds like we got a bunch of pissed off men in this thread who can't take it when a woman is not afraid to fight back and not take any crap.

I'm not pissed off at all, I like the fact she doesn't take any b.s. from her competition. She said it on her response on twitter, "She likes to be raced how others do to her."

I'm just saying, I hope she is truly ready because Kraus is going to give her hell next race. She reminds me a lot of Brian though, her Dad was the same way when he races.

I want Hailie succeed very much so, everyone here does. She has a ton of potential and a ton of marketability with her personality. I cannot wait to see her move up and see just how good she is with better competition. I just hope she isn't rushed up to the next level.

and thats fine and I'm glad she sticking up for herself cause if she let the drivers run over her they would do this every race but her showing them she not afraid to put the bumper to them will earn them their respect and will think twice about messing around with her.

Might wanna compare her stats to Todd Gilliland in the same series, Gilliland is probably the best K&N driver ever and is borderline a bust in Trucks. Her stats aren’t remotely as good as his in the same equipment. She has some talent but hard to tell anymore as watered down as these lower divisions are until she runs some big tracks in arca and truck races.

Also, you’re the first person to accuse people with different opinions of sexism. Congrats

hmmm, I wonder if we would be talking about Gilliland making the same move to win a K&N race in Colorado. Ya damn right the sexes are involved. It's one of the few sports where both can go head to head.

YOUR ALL WRONG! (old bitter medieval village woman yelling at the mob) :)

This is skill development -- learn how to "wreck others without wrecking yourself."

Deegan and others need to know how to perform these moves before they get to the top series. Imho

You have no clue what a bust is. How tf can Gilliland be a bust after a year in a half? He's 19 years old, this is the problem right here and my main issue.

Gilliland will put it together, hell when he was about to win Gragson ****** him over. Its rough, but damn folks give no time for **** anymore. You got an 18 and 19 year olds learning, developing. Hell, look at Custer. I remember folks were calling him a bust during his first or second full-time season. Look at him now, be patient and it pays off.

I know it well enough. I live out here and I am personally acquainted with her car owner.

Reality is that the best drivers and those best at attracting sponsorship sit in the good cars.

Please name an amateur or a professional race series where that does not apply.

He has the most starts of any KBM driver ever without a win. That’s pretty bad. Compare his performance to other KBM drivers over the years. Yes this a cutthroat industry, if you don’t perform in the top equipment, you’re out. He has had almost 2 years in the trucks. Also, Custer won his 2nd career Trucks start at age 16 lol

To make things even more damning a 50 year old who hasn’t ran a nascar race since 2016 or a truck since 2004, with 30 minutes of practice in April and two practice sessions this weekend managed to win his first start in KBM equipment. Trucks aren’t the problem it’s the drivers. I also said borderline bust, I’m sure he’ll pop up with his dads team and if he ends up turning it around I’ll eat crow. I like the kid and want him to win but I’m just calling it how I see it

Speaking on expereince, it a pain and I was mediocre at best. I found out real quick about needing sponsorship, its not easy. I was not born into a wealthy family, so having to market yourself is well... Extremely hard into why this company should give x amount of money to me to race. How were they going to receive the investment back in interest of said company.

Marketing is a pain.

He had em covered at Texas last year, the pits ran him out of gas. Personally I think Gilliland is another driver that will do well somewhere's else.

Logano was a bust also
