I just jumped back on here...I think this discussion is interesting. Certainly there is an obvious difference between Deegan and Gilliland. I have no clue who the better driver is nor do I really care at this point but the point is and this is a fact, Deegan, as long as she is remotely competitive as she moves from series to series will have much more staying power from a sponsorship standpoint.

It has been brought up that there wouldn't even be a thread if this were anyone else winning a K/N West race...well, that's kind of the point and why I posted. I didn't watch the race but on my Twitter account she was actually "trending". Again, that's the point and sponsors as long as she's competitive will eat this all up in a heart beat.

But the fact is, she is winning at this point. She's won 3 K/N races now and finished 7th in her only ARCA start so far.
 
Everybody loves her K&N wins, but it seems like the mediocre runs in the East Series have largely been given a pass due to inexperience.

I don't recall her being fast in Toledo for ARCA, she was competitive but not top 3 fast at Pocono in ARCA.

I root for her, but I'm also realistic and I feel the media is overhyping her and not seeing faults.

I’ll gladly take your word. I don’t know where they’re pushing her but it’s not through media that reaches me. The only place I hear of her is here. Is she mentioned on Truck or ARCA prerace?

You missed my point. If you want to turn someone for whatever reason, under whatever circumstance, don't be surprised when the favor gets returned.

Thanks. I don’t normally watch prerace, especially when it’s obvious the race isn’t going to be run. But if that’s the only place they’re marketing her, I’m back to my original position. Touting single-A series wins on a pregame won’t get the attention of the masses.

If you are expecting a carrier pigeon and looking at cave paintings, you’ll miss her.

Nascar’s social media channels, network TV, front page of NASCAR’s website, front page of ESPN’s NASCAR section, etc...

If anyone is paying attention to NASCAR they have heard or seen Deegan’s win somewhere.

Hey! My pigeon can knock out some damn fine cave paintings, although I do wish he’d use something else for ‘paint’.

So I miss her. I don’t pay attention to anyone else below the Truck level either. When I said “the masses”, I meant those sports fans who DON’T pay attention to NASCAR, all the people who never heard of Patrick until she reached the top of US open wheeled.

Need to know the situation with TG and KB before you just say stuff like this. From a team member that would be in the know, KBM has every driver in their second year work with KB's guru Truck CC Rudy Fugle and that was the plan this season until KB changed plans on him. Word is that KB wanted him for his run at the total wins. Hard to pass judgement on TG in this scenario. Trucks are significantly slower when Rudy is not the CC. Also heard TG and the CC he started with this season are not on the same page, but TG doesn't want to say too much as he knows the ride that he has is a great opportunity.
 
Todd looked a lot better with Wes Ward before the crash than he's looked with Marcus Richmond.

Marcus Richmond has been around the Truck Series a while, if I remember right he wasn't that great at Bobby Hamilton's team

I am saying if he was starting his career he wouldn't have the balls to pull that stunt. Being worth 60 million lets him do many things without consequences just as Jeff Gordon being worth 200 million and at the end of his career didn't have anything to worry about.
Lets see who the next driver pulls that stunt has going for him.

As an independent observer, who can't stand Kennseth or Logano, I will forever say that Matt wouldn't have done what he did if your boy Brad didn't wreck him earlier in the race!!!!! (also I like Brad!)

Who knows how far Hailie Deegan will go. She might make it to cup one day and win some races or maybe she will not.

I am just happy seeing her
working through the ranks (K&N, Trucks, Xfinty perhaps a William Byron Simulator).

One day a female will make it happen. I think this is the model to make it happen. A lot better. than the FastTrack approach Danica utilized.

My thought on this is the same as with any driver, male or female. I hope that she gets the chance to progress up the ladder as far as her talent will take her. Also I would love it if she moved up and started kicking ass.

Dale Sr is loved and made a career out of that behavior. His crew saw no wrong. They were ALL IN. I HATE people using the chrome horn. Period. But you MUST race the way you are raced. It's a different time.

Several guys dumped Danica fairly early in her races. Of course it was all her fault they couldn't stay off her bumper. She was 400+ laps into a top ten run at Bristol and got wrecked. For no reason other than testosterone. YMMV.

Brad wrecked him earlier so he takes out Joey? Brilliant, makes him worse than ever.
 
Todd gilliland has 20 k&n wins. Best finish in a kbm truck 6th. The hauler driver can win in bill macanlly cars

My aunt and uncle don't follow NASCAR at all. They've watched the Daytona 500, once. Even they know who Hailie Deegan is.
