2019 Gander Outdoors Truck Series Thread

Yeah I guess Lemonis doesn't have that much pull, probably a good thing in retrospect to not be controlled by a sponsor, but in this case...

Marcus Lemonis seems to have a good head on his shoulders, which is rare when it comes to describing any of the real big figureheads in NASCAR. He may not have pull, but considering he holds a vital position, I do hope NASCAR turns a willing ear to him.

... In addition, with the Triple Truck Challenge & Dash4Cash.......... Why in gods green earth did the Cup Series do away with money challenges? The Winston bonuses brought a lot of attention...
I doubt NASCAR decided to do away with cash bonuses for Cup. It's more likely there'd no one willing to sponsor / pay for them.

Probably, but I feel like Monster and whatever sponsor is making a mistake not doing a crown jewel bonus or something. I know Sprint did a Summer Challenge in July or August of 2010-2012 timeframe that was a half decent promotion but nobody won that.

I'll show my ignorance again. Who's Marcus Lemonis, a crew chief?

CEO of Gander Outdoors/RV & Camping World along with a bunch of other businesses...

There are a lot of people associated with the RV industry that would disagree with this statement. He took Camping World public with an initial offering of $22 per share in 2016. Stock now is selling around $14, down about 33%, while the market overall is up 33%. Not sure he is someone I would hold in high regards.

Sauter screwed up what could've been an awesome showdown at Gateway.

All he had to do was get to Hill after they were out of their cars. Have that high tension moment, maybe a nice made for TV flare up -- NASCAR separates

and everybody moves on to Gateway in one week where Biffle is driving the Pace Car, while Sauter and Hill are part of the drama and spectacle, again --

as the audience gathers to watch with great anticipation.

Sauter as a Champ and Truck old guy knew his antics under Caution was gonna bring NASCAR down on him -- immediately after he parked his truck.

It was Sauter's way of avoiding a man-to-man confrontation with Hill -- and getting an ass-whoopin on live TV.

Yeah I guess he should have stood up on the wall and waited for Hill to finish the race and ignored Nascar's call to the trailer. :cuckoo:.

Sauter lost his self-control during the Caution -- that was the problem. Otherwise, NASCAR and the fans get to watch Sauter make the walk over to Hill so they can discuss recent events.

A little more research was needed.

How can Biffle win the first leg of the challenge and not be eligible for the next 2 races? So basically the promotion is pointless because the only guy that could’ve won the triple isn’t allowed to run for it
The Internet Last Week: F**k Nascar. Always making the rules up as they go along. We hate the inconsistency. Just write the rules down and follow 'em. Why is that so hard?

The Internet This Week: Yeah, man, we can't wait to see The Biff spanking those little kids and taking the big money paycheck. Go Biff!!

NASCAR: Biffle is not eligible, it's clearly written in the rules. And the other entrants - who followed the rules - have rights too... that we need to protect.

The Internet: What a bunch of dopes. No wonder we won't be watching at Gateway. Free The Biff!! Free The Biff!!

I have no idea what happened to Truck qualifying. It was scheduled to be on FS2 and they are showing the Earnhardt/Gordon doc

Eckes on the pole in the famous 51 truck

What happened to On Point Motorsports? I haven't been around tonight and looks like Poole withdrew...

Now they just have to scratch up some points. If they run like the last two weeks then that shouldn't be much trouble, but two or even one bad week and they may be done.

Good win by Chastain!! That kid is on fire now he needs some points to boot. That was a fun race to watch.

Fell asleep and watched it early this morning. Glad I recorded it. I didn’t think he could hold em off on old tires but he did. Clean air and heck of a wheelman was enough.

Wonder if Murphy is getting a real shot in the 8 with NEMCO or are they s&p 2 trucks
