NASCAR 2020 - Bold Prediction Thread

Oooh that's a good one
I was leaning towards that one, I was torn between Denny coming to HMS or Brad coming back. just a gut feeling, I think Rick goes with a veteran driver who is a perennial contender who has won races and contends for the championship each year.

I have been wrestling with this since the thread started and I wanted to do a schedule based prediction like Rockingham returning to the Cup Schedule in 2021 or North Wilkesboro coming back to Xfinity/Trucks schedule also in 2021, a real out of leftfield prediction that probably has no chance of coming true but if it does it turns out to be "How the hell did he know that?" But my thinking has shifted to driver changes and I think I have a good one. Maybe a bit out there but if it happens.... so here goes.....
2020 BOLD PREDICTION: It will be reported at midyear, Brad Keselowski comes home to HMS and is the one to replace Jimmie Johnson in the 48 for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Season
So that explains the move with Bullins.

Well my thinking behind my prediction is two things 1.) I really believe Brad got the short end of the crew chief change at Penske (Bullins record with Blaney the last two years compared to Wolfe and Gordon’s) 2.) I pretty sure I read in multiple outlets that this is a contract year for him. Just conjecture on my part and having a little fun in this thread as it’s one of my favorites of the year.

If Miller Lite reducing sponsorship has a significant play on how strong his cars are, that could play into the decision too, percent chance.

When Bullins was running the Xfinity show for Penske, Brad was at the top of the heap and I think they will make a good pair again.

There will be at least 4 first-time winners in Cup.

I was one position short of getting my prediction last year so I'll let it ride for this year:

There will be at least 3 first-time winners in Cup.

With all due respect for Toy Yoda's really bold prediction of 4 first time winners - I hope you win.

fyi

If there are in fact 4 first-time winners in Cup then both predictions will have been proven to be true and it will be up to the voters to determine which prediction is the most bold.

go figure . . . .

If there are 4 it goes to Toy Yoda.

This is what I've got so far.

Jesus we're really gonna allow the Career Ending prediction.... thats freaking morbid especially with what just happened with Kobe. Some people are just so inept with the process of thought.

I'm going to speak up for Stu's 'Career Ending' prediction. It may be a bit morbid and I don't like it myself, but it's certainly not outside the rules.

It was made weeks before the helicopter accident in CA. Unfortunately, people die in accidents every day. We've all heard of some of the victims, others will always be strangers. That doesn't make the famous ones more tragic or the obscure ones less so.

I dont need to be lectured on how I should feel about accidents, I am 35 years old not a kid... I know thats how it goes in life. I was using the Kobe example because are we really going to give that prediction any credence, any driver losing their career is pretty damn tragic using your line of thinking which I agree with. From Cup to every saturday night short tracker. While its not against the rules it sure is against the lines of good taste.

this is in poor taste.i play for fun.and i think this takes the fun out of it

The glory of freedom of speech is that anyone has (or should have) the right to say anything. The flipside is everyone else has the right to not vote for a potentially correct prediction. Curtailing freedom of speech leads to no positive outcomes

Uh no. Freedom of speech only means the government can't censor you. This forum can censor whatever they please.

It doesn’t mean anything other than I like the kid.

He’s a good human.

Gotcha, fair enough. I like the kid as well, just wasn't sure if I missed his announcement on running for presidency :)
It was lost in the daily deluge of "breaking news" coming out of the political realm.

Can't talk about that here except to say that young Master Ryan would be a credible candidate. His grandfather was Lou Blaney, fer crassakes!

Um sure. America and all that.
