NASCAR 2020 - Bold Prediction Thread

A few additions to the list:

NASCAR 2020 - BOLD PREDICTIONS.jpg

Kyle Larson wins two races and becomes THE free agent of this Silly Season.

HMS will win more races than JGR.

Go ahead and eliminate me now :D

I don't think it's that crazy.

Chase could have a crazy Jeff Gordon breakout season and outrun Kyle Busch.

Jimmie could go out on a high note and outrun Denny.

Byron could outrun Truex if he also breaks out and/or Truex slumps.

Bowman and Jones are both meh in my book.

At least one Cup driver will suffer a career-ending injury.

After considering it for awhile, I've come to the conclusion that the prediction made by @Stu Jameson simply is not fitting with the good natured spirit of the game.

It will be deleted from the list before the next time that it is posted.

@Stu Jameson will need to submit another, more appropriate (i.e. less morbid), prediction.

The top placing driver of the final four championship contenders at the Phoenix race does not win the championship, as he is disqualified for a rules infraction handing the 2nd highest placing driver in the final four the championship.

And I was the wrong one.......thanks Molo the prediction violated the good vibes of what this game tries to accomplish.

Never said you were wrong, just that the prediction didn't violate any known rules. The rules are now more clearly defined.

This could be RCR's last chance to make it back as a contender.

It's a real test for Reddick. The back-to-back defending Xfinity champ having the worst equipment of the "Big 3" feels weird, but hey, he really impressed last year at Kansas.

Just a reminder, the deadline for prediction submittals is set at noon eastern time, Sunday, February 16th, 2020.

Picks to date:

My prediction becomes more realistic with every passing day.

NASCAR and SMI announce a merger (non-cash stock transfer) that results in the Smith family becoming substantial minority owners of the combined company.
I'm withdrawing the above prediction. I still believe it will happen, but I want to make a sporting prediction rather than a business one. So here it is...

2020 is the year of the Young Gun. Drivers in their 20's will win more cup races than drivers in their 30's or in their 40's.

PS: In 2019, drivers in their 20's won 10 cup races; drivers in their 30's won 21; drivers in their 40's won 5.

PSS: If Logano wins the World 600 on May 24th, his 30th birthday, that will count as "in his 30's."

Now this is bold. I can see Chase, Larson and Logano before his birthday pulling off wins, but beyond that... slim pickings.

Blaney and Jones are good for one a year but Larson and Chase better have 5 a piece if that's gonna happen
