It’s not Daytona without DW

Cheating is cheating. You can't call a spade anything other than a spade if it's true nature is a spade
I'm not disagreeing with that.

Attempted murder is a more serious crime than assault.

Same. It would suck if everyone covering Nascar was just business and serious all the time. Yeah it's ridiculous but wth people need to lighten up a little.

Exactly, like it's fun to have some little entertainment and ****.

My $2 dollars worth (inflation) on Mickey:

He blatantly cheated to high heaven in the top tier of Nascar and should be banned from anything to do with Cup and or any series of Nascar. He should not be allowed on the premises of any track that a Nascar series is racing at. This is just how I feel about it.

I don;t think it is a requirement either way to be an announcer for the media, but I don't think there would be anybody left to race in the series or announce the races. Yunick, Junior Johnson, Ernie Elliott, Evernham, Chad to name only a few..:D

Here hold my beer. BTW Evernham won the Smoky Yunick award

Why is it necessary to include clownish behavior by a member of the broadcast team before, during and after events?

What other professional sports do this?
College Basketball, any time Dick Vitale or Bill Walton is calling a game...

It's definitely different without DW. Will take some adjustment. I hope Mikey is not taking a bigger role for every race.

My quarrel with Michael is not about rocket fuel or itchy arms. He paid his dues for those transgressions, if anything more than other offenders.

Nor is it the concept of having comedic elements on the broadcast.

Its that he's bad at it. Embarrassingly so.

I mind him less on the Trucks broadcasts. He's actually a capable analyst and clearly enjoys the racing. His 'character' that he plays for the big shows is awful.

Nailed it.
A little less "Mikey" and a lot more "Michael" would be good.

I'll take him over the gerbils any day. I believe he spends more time in the garage than most of the other announcers and his sense of humor helps in that instance. The other two truck announcers can only say KBM over and over.

I kind of agree with this, but the problem is even when he IS being less goofy, you still have to deal with that voice.

I think Terry is on The Masked Singer now.

Obviously got promoted.:D

Is this him too? :)
