Grassroots 2020

I have been to Wiliams Grove one time to see the Outlaws, what a great facility, love the tight turns and long straights. :booya:
I'm gonna try to get there this year I really started going to local racing in PA in 2019 and just didn't have a chance to get to the Grove.

@kkfan91 Get the pit pass, worth every dollar and it is not that expensive to begin with.:booya::punkrocke You will have a blast. Be sure and stand at pit exit area during heats and practice. They all but get in your pocket, you will be saying holy crap!:D

Port Royal and Grandview are two of my favorite tracks in PA, though I haven't found a track I dislike yet. I've also been to BAPS, Selinsgrove, Action Track USA, and Evergreen in PA. Bridgeport and New Egypt in Jersey, and Airport in Delaware. Next tracks I want to get to are Wall Stadium, Lincoln, Williams Grove, Jennerstown, and Georgetown.

Get to Stafford, one of the premier asphalt programs in the country right now. The SK and SK Light fields are so competitive they send home cars on a weekly basis.

Bit of a headache for me to get up there since I have to go through NYC, maybe someday though. I did see pavement mods at Evergreen and hope to see the NASCAR mods at Wall and Jennerstown. My goal is to hit every track in Pennsylvania at least once.

Port Royal is awesome, one of my favorites too. Path Valley is an "interesting" track.

What's the "interesting" part?
The way the spectator seating is set up. The stands are pretty unorganized and most set up high on a steep embankment. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the races the niight I went and had a great view. It was just different than any other track I have been to. Have you been there?

No not yet, plan to at some point.

The Indoor Auto Racing Championship kicks off its season Friday and Saturday at the PPL Center in Allentown Pa. You get a lot of the Northeast racers running it. Features TQ midgets, slingshots, and outlaw karts. I went to Atlantic City last year and it was a good time

Pa Speedweek for 410 Sprints is set

First image I've seen of the newly redesigned track at Bridgeport Speedway. They got rid of the 5/8ths and 3/8th and from what I heard built something between a 4/10ths and a half mile. But holy cow look at that banking.

Opening day of Pennsylvania sprint car season. The Icebreaker at Lincoln Speedway. Its windy but temperatures are near 50.

Hell of a crowd at Lincoln today.

I'll have some pictures later but the place was standing room only. Start of heats was delayed because people were still trying to get in. It wouldn't surprise me if there were 4000 people there for a 1 class show.

I would personally be much more inclined to go to a 1 class show with a class I like when the weather is cold (or anytime really) than a show with some lower class like street stock, ump modifieds, etc that bring out loads of cautions and drag out the day.
I think that is especially true for a lot of fans at sprint car races. A lot of sprint car fans are fairly closed minded about other classes and don’t even like late models, etc...
obviously it depends on the individual, but I have talked to people who don’t wanna see any fenders at a sprint show!
I personally like most of the higher classes, but the lower really amateur stuff, usually just ends up being cautionfests. Not fun on a cold winter day!

I mean they managed to have 9 cautions, think they needed to knock the winter rust off.

I’ve definitely seen worse with sprints, but 9 is pretty bad. Have seen a few WoO shows where they needed to red flag for refueling due to too many caution laps..
I think one night at Attica I went for an ASCOC show there was over a half a dozen red flags...
Definitely not the norm for sprints though

Yeah they needed a fuel stop at lap 9. No major wrecks in the feature just spins. Though 2 did get upside down in the heats

Stewart Friesen kicks off the Northeast Dirt Modified season with a win at Georgetown Speedway in Delaware.

Meanwhile in Florida, they give new meaning to the phrase "I want you to go out and hit the pacecar"

Well it won't let me share the video but let's just say this car launched over a dirt berm around a light post and landed on the pacecar.

How many rolls can a legand do? Let's find out.

Asking the important questions right now in PA

Pretty good. a couple of brothers racing side by side for the win. One brother gets turned in the first turn and comes all the way up to the front.

Well I found a 2 day weekend show in PA which might be the only track in the state running with fans right now. Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. Saturday they will be running late models, emods, 4 cly, enduro. Sunday 410 sprints, 305s, 270 micros, legends, and bmods. 4 hour drive from my house but I need to see a race.

Penn-can is running Friday night. Never been but I will try to get there the following week or week after if they can really pull it off this Friday. 3 hours from my house. Never been. Never had any interest in going. Never heard of the place. I'm an asphalt guy. But heck I'll start running circles in the neighborhood cul-de-sac if I don't see cars on-track soon!

Saw that after I posted, might do that too lol I've never been either but my goal is to eventually see every track in Pa. Its 3.5 hours north of me, then I'd still plan to head to Roaring Knob the next day which is 4 hours west of me.

Weather looks like it will be the issue tomorrow

Rained out at Penn Can but they did manage to wreck a car in abbreviated hot laps and smash a track packing truck into the wall

Going to try Roaring Knob tomorrow and Sunday weather looks much better. Lincoln apparently has the go ahead to run Monday so have to see about that.

Did something I never do tonight and leave a race early, but when its midnight and there are still 4 features to run and theres a 4 hour drive home, and your going back tomorrow for the sprint car show you were more interested in anyway...
