Let’s say that Kyle Busch is telling the truth and misjudged the timing of tucking behind Chase and accidentally hooked him. IF this is the case, he does have a history of having the same misjudgement.

Dude simply has no idea where his fenders are.

One of the things I have noticed over 40+ years of watching auto racing is that some of the biggest talents sometimes make inexplicably awful mistakes. I think sometimes they convince themselves they can pull off moves that just aren't there. As I pointed out last night, when Earnhardt was good, he was off the charts good, but when he screwed up it often seemed to defy logic with how bad it was.

Dude’s fenders were in 2nd place when the checkers fell...

I wasn't an ironhead fan either. Any driver who has a history of repeatedly knocking people out of the way and can't pass them cleanly works for some fans, not me

So I'm not the only one who thinks their driving styles are similar? I liked Dale's personality but didn't agree with some of what he did on the track. (I don't like Kyle's personality; he's a whiner.)

Well first off, I don't believe they are mistakes, but are done deliberately and very very seldom are they accidental, but the drivers that habitually do them sure try to make it look that way if possible. Dirty driving most of the time gets rewarded just like last night. It's the nature of the beast in Nascar, but sometimes examples like when Elliott puts Hamlin into the wall, rough justice prevails, but it is hard to corner a weasel, Chase has his work cut out for him.

Oh well. It’s done with. Chase owes him one.

It sucks that Kyle ran out of talent because Chase was the only HMS driver having a good run and he could definitely have had a win for Himself, HMS, NAPA, and Chevy. That being said what's done is done and the best thing for Chase to do is not dwell on this and let it get into his head because that will only cause him to make mistakes. He needs to go out there and win some races and that will be the best thing for Himself, HMS, NAPA, and Chevy...and the best and classiest fukk you to KDB.

It looks like Chase will not get a fine from NASCAR for the "your number one" salute to Kyle. Do they normally fine the drivers for this?

If they're caught on camera, yes.

Kyle also made a mistake here......

look last night's deal was unfortunate for Chase and to be frank, sucked. Kyle owned up to it but he has a bit of a track record of making these mistakes. I also dont think it helps it was Kyle Busch that did the deal and the receiving end was Chase Elliott, NASCAR Golden Boy. I am not gonna accuse Kyle not doing it on purpose or doing it on purpose, he drives race cars for a living and I watch him on race day. If he says it was a mistake, in my view I can only take his word for it. Now saying that I hope Chase gets his comeuppance whether thats going on a winning binge or surgically taking matters into his own hands ( see Denny Hamlin, Phoenix Fall 2017), Chase got jobbed no two ways about it. Also the comparisons from Kyle Busch to Dale Earnhardt, not sure. I would think that Kyle and Brad Keselowski most remind me of Earnhardt, but I just got done watching most of the 1987 season and Dale Earnhardt was taking people out that year... alot of people. I dont think Kyle does it to that frequency in a season.

I believe the two top clips was from the same season when KDB wrecked Kahne twice causing 2 DNF's and wrecking Kahne's season. The second clip was on purpose, it wasn't a mistake. I did lose some respect for Kahne for not returning the favor sadly. You can't let a jackass get away with that without ruining his races also IMO.

I think these 3 guys hit it square on the head and explained it about as good as it can be explained.

Dale Jr accidentally wrecked Kyle the following Richmond race. Isn't life funny?

It wasnt accidental. It was plain as day on purpose when it happened and Dale has admitted that he thought about it all season and when the opportunity knocked, he took it.

I only remember him saying he didn't mean to run into him after the race.. even showed smoke coming from his tires as he tried to avoid hitting him. Of course, as his fan, I like to think it was intentional. It needed to be done. The fans in the stands got a kick out of it. Busch's CC said 'He got you. You have to give it to him'

Yah "accidentally" Dale made it right, Chase will do the same.
All depends, Kyle knows he has some possible repercussions coming.

I'm fine with either option, I think these type of deals help Chase stoke that fire in his belly. He'd rather win than "Get even", he might not give as much space a la Hamlin at Phoenix back in 2017.

Yah Im fine with both as well. If Chase goes out and wins 3 out of 4 while roughing up Kyle in the process of one of those wins, I'd call it even. If he's going to go out there and just dump the 18, well thats fine too I guess. I hope the kid goes out and sweeps Charlotte next week, that'd be much more cooler for me as a fan.

I think the Chase fans that are wanting retaliation and revenge are just setting themselves up for further disappointment. I think Chase is smarter then some are giving him credit. I think after he sees the video and discusses it with Busch he will put it behind him and do what he is being paid to do and that is represent his team professionally and concentrate on winning races and representing his sponsors with the class that he has shown very well so far in his career. But, if it happens again then all bets are off the table.

I'm not here to hate but I think that was blatant. I've seen many angles, he knew Chase was on fresher tires. I guess he's a sore loser.

48 finished in the top 10 after starting 37. 88 was fast too, just victim of track position.

His fans feel more offended than he does. I'm with Bobby here. Onto the next. Chase will let it go, his fans should do the same instead of calling for someone's head

Chase Elliott really has a false reputation of being a vanilla do-gooder with no fire.

I was wondering what happened to the 88. He was fast and doing good and then I had to leave for a while and when I came back he had lost a lot of track positions.

The 88 was fast until he hit the wall pretty hard and it took the edge off of the car. He flattened both wheel arches
I saw him hit the wall but I was at a track slot car racing last night and I only got to watch in between my races. I kind of figured that may have been the reason. For the record we were all wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart.:)
