USAC 2020

Rooting for Steve Buckwalter, his kids race at the same quarter midget track mine was attempting to race at.

Christopher Bell needs to decide that driving the big stock cars isn't for him, so that there is a rival.
A couple years ago Bell and Larson put on an unbelievable show in Ventura on Turkey night. They slide jobbed back and forth all the way to the last lap and bell got Larson at the finish line.

Larson is starting deep in the field and the track has been difficult to pass on so far, though they are reworking it some. It will be a quite a feat if Larson can repeat again.

Larson again tonight, this time from 15th. Someone needs to beat him, I think Thorson looks like he could. But Larson looks so confident and smooth right now.

The clip doesn't show the end of the race, but it does show the dogfight between Thorson and Larson. Second night in a row the track is a wreck. The young Okie Macintosh was right in there ....for awhile

Round #3 IMW Putnamville Feature Highlights 6/18/20

Putnamville was my home track when I was growing up in the late 70's and 80's. It was the first track I worked on a sprint car team and the first place I took my pulling tractor with 2 blown 454 Chevys..

Had a chance to make it to the first two nights (Paragon and Gas City) awesome racing, really neat to be there for a couple races of Larson's big streak! I will hopefully make it to a couple of the All Stars Ohio Speed week shows, i'm guessing he will be doing that entire week as well.

They beat him, bounty captured.

Chris Windom wins, Larson finishes second after running third until the final backstretch. Tanner Thorson was going to finish second, but something broke on the final lap. A lot of great racing throughout.

Larson steals one from Thomas Meseraull on the final restart after he couldn't get by for most of the race, and returns to victory lane again tonight. He's now four for five this week in Indiana.

What a finish tonight. Tyler Courtney led most of the race and then flipped all on his own when he caught a rut on a restart. Tanner Thorson ran the leaders down and took the lead, and then Larson almost stole the win back with a late commitment to the high side. Thorson wins by a tiny margin at the line.

When I was at the Kokomo IN race last year Courtney hit a rut in qualifying and rolled way up high on the corner wall... and then he came back the next night and won. I'm excited to see Larson race on the Westcoast later this year. I wonder who will sign him for a WOO deal next year or will he run his own program?

Larson's car lacked a little speed, or Thorson gained some. Despite that Larson kept it wound up and made a heck of a race out of it with Tanner Thorson and Chris Windom.

I noticed Thorson was faster on the straight of ways.

I'm thinking the midget team is his and he has a sprint car team with Macedo and he driving already. I could be wrong, that was before Covid

yeah me too, he seemed down on power, looked like he floored it and ran the high line on that last restart. I don't know if you could call it blocking before that, but he was taking the preferred line shall we say and making it Newman hard to pass

*edit* upon further review, I found that Larson is driving a midget for Tucker/Boat.

Yep, I knew that. But he had his own team when he won the Chili Bowl in January. I don't know if he still has it or not.

Kyle still has his midget team and 2 sprint car operations, the 2 and the 1K. Paul Silva also takes care of those operations. On top of being CarChief to Macedo and the KLR team, owner ,manager and crew chief of the 57, manager of Kyles midget and sprint car, he is too busy to campaign the midget also. Keeping the 2 and the 57 on the road is a full time job. Joe Gaerte is Crew chief for the 2 team. Splitting the sprint cars up between sanctions made more sense than competing against each other. That was the problem when the midget was under KKR. Running for Tucker/Boat took a huge load off of Paul, and allowed him to go back to Ca To see family and regroup in anticipation of PA speedweek, Eldora, and the Knoxville Nationals. Kyles racing anywhere, anything and for anybody that will put a safe ride under him.
