Does Majeski just not bring enough financial backing to keep a solid truck or Xfinity ride? I mean, he got dumped for Trevor Bayne this year, how did that happen?
There’s talk of him not having enough backing for a whole lot of super late model racing next season

That would be a crying shame because Ty lit the short tracks on fire a the end of 2020. He deserves a full-time ride at the very least.

And it begins. So sad. :(

So hard to tell when, where and how his strain was contracted. If the derby was Sunday its been 4 and a half days, it can take two weeks to show symptoms. Hope everyone that attended is as healthy as possible. They assume the risk when they walk in the gate. T's & P's

The problem is, there are likely people who went knowing they had it because they aren't gonna miss the Derby no matter what.

No contact tracing means we won't know much for sure. Plus that place is largely protected by the motorsports media. No one will ever criticize that race and that track the way they criticize other tracks and events.

I was listening to S. Korea's health minister and they do contact tracing along with a whole lot of other stuff to fight the virus. She said a guy turned up positive and it turns out he had gone to a bar. By the time they ran down everybody and who they had been in contact with it was over a hundred people and that was just one person in a bar for awhile. A whole lot of people aren't taking this crap seriously.

It's funny, people in this country say they would do anything for this country, but asking them to wear a mask, wash their hands, and stay out of other peoples' personal space is too big an ask because they think they're wolves among sheep.

I went shopping at Wally World today, and with the exception of a couple of beat up biker chicks I didn't see anybody running around with out a mask. Really surprised about that.

People around here walk in with their mask on where it's checked and enforced, then take it off. The only place here where people wear masks is at Lowes Foods because the hillbillies and the red hats don't shop there.

"So what's it like to have freedom here?" I believe you might have asked a few folks in the press box of FMS that question last month. lol. Regardless, it seems that no matter how hard a group tries to execute contact tracing the practicality and effectiveness of it is nearly impossible. Is the entire state of NC REALLY able to enforce a statewide curfew? Circling back from potential podium material, Florence and Pensacola made revenue and they will be able to host events next year in the black, and that is an overall gain for the sport.

There's also a big, huge, giant difference between North Carolina's lockdown methods and closing tracks (which has more to do with the stunts pulled at Ace Speedway than anything) and doing absolutely nothing. Florida is doing absolutely nothing because they think herd immunity is the right strategy and are copying what Sweden did, nevermind that Sweden abandoned their strategy because they didn't achieve herd immunity with it.

And my comments about people having freedom in Florence had nothing to do with masks.

Oh, and by the way, that track technically wasn't supposed to have fans, but South Carolina didn't have someone there making it all political.

Depends on what part of Florida. Face mask are being used in Tampa, Orlando and surrounding parts, and not just the parks.

Actually FMS was allowed to have fans, just not as many as showed up.

Right.

Nobody in South Carolina or Virginia is blatantly flipping their governors off so nobody's getting shut down. On top of that, in North Carolina, you have tracks turning other tracks into the state, while everyone in South Carolina and Virginia gets along.

There's SSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO much blame that goes to track owners in North Carolina, but it's easier for people to just blame Roy Cooper instead since he's a "DemonRAT."

Maybe there should be a snowball derby race thread and a seperate poduim thread for the covid issues related to the race. They both are worthy but different topics it is just almost impossibile to talk covid without the politics.

Aw, no worries mate. It will just be two weeks to flatten the curve and then we all be lovey dovey again. <sarcasm>

The guy who hooked him like that should've earned a clean old fashioned asswhopping. Dirtiest thing you can do is intentionally send someone into the wall head on at full speed.

Race directors really need to start policing races and conduct better, from NASCAR on down to this. Of course, at many tracks, their hands are tied by "promoters" who think stuff like this is part of "the show."

There's just so much disrespect and blatant dirty driving going on, especially with these teenagers (but not exclusive to them). Lapped cars blocking leaders, drivers skipping the first two parts of the "three tap rule" and just flat out dumping other guys, blatantly wrecking someone on the last lap because "I'll do whatever it takes to win," and so on.

Seems like Jacksonville and Florence are the only tracks I've been to this year where people race with any level of respect.

It's just a matter of time unless they start taking safety seriously. There is no way that roll bar should look like a pretzel after a wreck

Sheeeeiiit, there are short tracks that let drivers race in jeans and without gloves still.

Around here, there's a class of cars (karts, actually) that races that's incredibly dangerous. One track put wings on them and puts nets on them for driver safety and even paid for the safety equipment themselves. Same track reversed those safety rules this year because all the drivers said "if you take away the safety rules, you'll get more cars."

Drivers will spend $12,000 on a new motor without blinking an eye but will completely kirk out over spending $500 on safety equipment. And a lot of tracks cave whenever drivers say, "if you do this you'll get 20 cars" which never pans out.

They D'qed the 52. That would be the least of his worries if that were my team

Its built to safety recommendations, you cant stray from it nor should you want too. Most of these trucks like the cars are built by independent car builders that know their stuff and they take it very seriously.

Doesn't look like it to me.

If you think that roll cage held up that is your opinion. Any fool can see it didn't and was only by the grace of God he didn't sustain serious injuries or worse
Only a fool would say it didnt do its job. Hes out walking around which is proof it did its job. Most of these trucks and cars are built by people who work or worked building Cup cars. Perhaps you can give them a call and tell them what they are doing wrong and ask why they dont take safety seriously.

All I have to do is look at the shape of the roll bar. A hit on the driver side would match the other side

Its amazing what a fool Hunter Johnson is too. He is at the race tonight and was interviewed on TV and thanked his truck builder for building such a safe truck. But what the hell does he know? ;)
