What's your favorite NASCAR video game of all time?

NASCAR 14 is the only NASCAR video game I played. I did have a lot of fun with it until the game crashed while I played qualifying at Phoenix. I still had a shot at the Final Four, but when I restarted the game everything was deleted.
I haven't touched it since.

Out of all of the NASCAR games I've played, my personal favorites would have to be 2005 and/or 2008. They both included all of the major series, as well as the modifieds. As someone who enjoyed the NASCAR games, the fluid transition from local short track driver all the way up to Cup team owner was appeasing to me.

While NASCAR 09 wasn't anything special, it was the first game I played online. I raced with the same group of guys pretty much every night. When NASCAR 11 finally came out, most of those guys disappeared and I stopped playing because it just wasn't a great experience.
NASCAR 09 still reminds some of the most fun I ever had online racing, even though the game itself wasn’t great. Never won but had lots of fun and have yet to have as much fun online in a NASCAR game yet

+1 on 09' that was the most fun online experience in memory. Back when you could control the lobby and mic check for squeekers lol. We actually got laps in and could go double file on the plate tracks.

So I didn’t see this. Apologies if it was already talked about. This conceivably could mean EA could make a NASCAR game again through Codemasters. I also thought I saw there was going to be no NASCAR Heat 6 coming out this year. I’m all for EA giving it a go again, the current Heat games left a lot to be desired.

The way EA has turned madden into a disgrace this isn't a good thing.

well the NASCAR games are already a disgrace so the bar isnt that low. Also I find the Madden games pretty enjoyable, they are missing alot of the details like stats keeping over a dynasty which is what I only play, dont play online at all. If you think the EA games are bad I doubt 2K could make a better Madden, I wouldnt bet on it.

hell you ever play the old ESPN 2k5 for original Xbox? Better than any madden ever released.

I Like every Madden I bought for PS3, the newer generation Maddens I will agree have left alot to be desired. Never played 2k5 ha ha

2K5 and Madden '05-'07 are wayyyyyyy better than any Madden game made since. It's ridiculous how football gaming has gone so far backwards on the next gen consoles. EA only cares about extra $$$ from the "Ultimate Team" DLC and it shows. The product is trash and has been trash for over a decade.

Similar to NASCAR gaming, which seemed to have peaked in the mid 2000s. Sad.

Toss up between Dirt to Daytona and NASCAR Thunder 2004. Dirt to Daytona had a few glitches I wasnt a fan of and the crashes were realistic, but unfortunately the game didnt have a replay feature, though it did show highlights after each race. As far as 2004, it was great, though way too easy if you use auto assist, but I could never avoid hitting the wall with auto assist off.

I unfortunately never played NR2003, and it not only looks to be more than I want to pay, but I assume it wont work on new computers.
NR2003 CAN definitely be played on new computers. It’s a process with Windows 10 but it works.

I have it on my laptop and recently installed it with a Logitech G920 for a friend’s daughter to practice on.

I finally got a decent gaming PC and subscribed to iRacing last week. Holy moly... I'm hooked. Instantly my favorite sim. I was able to grind up to C license for ovals in 5 days. I'm no threat to win yet, but I strive for safety rating to keep advancing.

I keep thinking about getting into iRacing, how screwed would I be if I'm not good at setting up the car? Or are there templates out there for each track?

Early licenses have races with fixed setups. You can adjust a couple things, but everyone is in the same box. My only complaint so far is it can get pricey in a hurry as you have to buy individual cars and tracks on top of your subscription. They're running a 40% off new subscriptions through today or tomorrow, so check out the website and give it a whirl. Also having a decent wheel and pedal setup is a must.

New season starts March 9, so you can get in on ground level.

It really is an easy $15k investment with computer, tri-monitors, wheel & pedal, subscription, gigabyte internet, etc. Some iRacing rigs cost upwards of $250k but I hear it is worth it if you have the money

Yeah, I didn't go anywhere near that "all in." I went with 34" superwide monitor instead of triple screens and it's just fine. I sit at a desk but have an old PlaySeat I could drag out. Biggest splurge besides iRacing content was $400 on a Logitech G923 wheel and pedals.
