105th Indianapolis 500 Race Thread

So whats the deal with them saving fuel all race long, only to go 100% at lap 180 of 200. If the entire race was filled with the kind of racing we saw in the last 20 or so laps, it would have been hella intense.

That Dixon strategy was weird. Basically be a rolling chicane the last 30 laps?

Hard to figure how making one less pit stop than the leaders turned out so poorly. He must have been going really, really slow to stretch it.

Even though Rick Mears has always been and will always be my all time favorite Indy car driver I would love to see Helio get a number 5 and break what is now a 5 way tie.

I was there for Helio's 3rd win, so happy to see him get a 4th win. Absolutely incredible scenes to see Helio running around in front of all those fans after the dog **** ****** year and a half we have had in our world. Absolutely ****** awesome race and moments!

Great race but I thought the coverage was lacking. Things happened that they didn't follow up on. Simona would be a good example of that.

Also, never saw a thing about AJ Foyt having Tony Stewart in the pitbox with him.

Sucked that Daly had his race ruined by that tire but I'm so happy they designed these cars to protect the drivers heads, that would have been an absolutely horrific and devastating moment a few years ago where we might have lost him.

Amazing that this thing stayed put together well enough to run the rest of the way and even finish 13th.
