Chase Elliott

Eh, ebb and flow. Definitely credit to the driver and team.

An excellent driver, CC and team running the best car is the difference between a 10/20/26, 2500 lap lead season/championship, and a 6/16/23, 1700 laps lead.

A good team and driver in the fastest car, with perfect execution is going to dominate. I think the credit to the team is by just how much the driver/team dominates a season. And no team with the fastest car all year executed their season of the gen 6 era as good as Larson, Cliff and the 5 team.

Ceiling raisers.

As I noted, Larson drove brilliantly and his team executed. HOWEVER, the only basis for comparison for execution over a season in the Gen 6 era would be Larson's teammates as this was car different from the Toyotas and Fords. We are talking about cars where a slit in the wrap impacts aero. It boggles the mind what Chevy had in comparison to the Toyotas and Fords.

Why??? If one guy can kick ass in that equipment it only means you have to tweak the equipment to suit yourself or admit the other guy is a better driver.
I think the better driver part would be demoralizing, don't you?...especially when you are the Champion.

Ah yes… Rev with his Camaro 2.0 rant while ignoring how Toyota effectively ruined the sport and pushed us into lowered horsepower rules. See, two can play this silly game Rev.
I have never seen anything about Toyota even advocating for lower horsepower as a means of gaining an advantage anywhere except for here. Ever. You? Honestly, did you get this? ....and as a result, ruined the sport? Come on man.

It's called parity
No it's not. Look at the Manufacturer Standings? Mind you....I don't have a problem with the standings other than I am pissed WE got beat, but it's how Chevy achieved that that I think is bull****. They didn't just get more spoiler or something like that. They got a whole new ******....never mind, you already know.

oh sniffles, that is what it is called, parity. For the umpteenth time, parity. I know YOUR yotas are faily new to the sport, but if parity wasn't used, YOUR Toyotas probably wouldn't be around. If Chevy continued to be handicapped with a much slower car they might pull the plug also. Nascar looked at the Aero numbers AND the Chevy numbers were way low. Somehow you think this is the only time Nascar has evened up the competition? Wake up.

NASCAR didn't make any new rules to benefit Chevrolet. NASCAR didn't design a rules package that would give Chevrolet an advantage.

Chevrolet made adjustments to their car that were well within the rules; Ford and Toyota could have adjusted theirs too, had they deemed necessary. All three manufacturers engineered their cars with the current rules packages in mind. Apparently @Revman thinks Chevrolet should have been locked into their initial design, because reasons.

Lots of crying over nothing.

Didn't Toyota do this in 2017?

But but but supply chain and COVID and the Gen 7 car!!!!!

Some people are way too concerned with how others spend their money. Or maybe they just like to make up excuses about "unfair advantages" to make themselves feel better.

Not really. If Chase was the 2020 champion but his team mate beat him this year, that is life.
It could mean he lacked something this year or his team let him down. It isn't that often that a driver gets to repeat his championship. Just ask Hamlin. :sarcasm:

Learn a new song. This one's getting stale.

Same BS. Different day. Chevy handicapped themselves. WTF is the point....might as well go completely spec.....which I don't think would break your heart, but then, WTF is the point of another OEM even becoming involved. None. I'm awake.

"Adjustments" LMFAO....Unbelievable.

....or give the other manufacturers the same opportunity....but then Chevy would get their asses kicked again, right?

That is complete bull****. That is not what went down.

In fact, Toyota introduced the new Camry AFTER winning the Manufacturers Championship. Wanna know why? Because the new Camry was coming out, and they wanted to tie racing to the consumer side. Interesting concept given that this is....well, freaking NASCAR. Thanks fo bringing this up though.....Get you head around that....Chevy ***** up a car....gets a new one designed around a rules package while the competition has to stay with their old designs, gets a development freeze locking in the competition to the old designs.... and Toyota jumps out of a Championship winning car to stay relevant to the customer base. Quite a bit of difference corporate philosophy if you ask me....and let's go one step further......Chevy built the car intending to run it one year. One ****** year.....and members want to flip me **** about Toyota spending. What a ****** joke.

Yeah, I don't need to get my head around ****, Rev. I'm 100% neutral on this. Ford. Chevy. Toyota. Cheat. No cheat. Fair. Unfair. Questionable philosophies by Chevy, I don't care. As long as the cars don't get stuck in an aero bubble, I don't care what manufacturer does or doesn't have an advantage. I'm just recalling talk back when of them running a 2018 car in 2017, particularly a comment Kurt Busch made. I understand it annoys you, and perhaps I'm missunderstanding, but do not group into the members who are dogging you. I've been nothing but respectful of your Toyota allegiance, and this perpetual derailing argument between you and Standonit and others in these threads.

I think we need a manufacturer discussion thread.

Nah, Rev makes every thread a manufacturer thread.

I'm gonna just make one myself lol

Maybe I'll decorate it

So, basically what we've learned today is that Rev is an EXTREMELY sore loser. Almost Dennis level. TRD got whipped. Period. You clutch pearls and wonder why everyone hates Toyota, and conveniently ignore that IT WAS TOYOTA that led us down the road to where the rules packages are today. Then, when they get beat at their own game, you scream and cry foul. Boo hoo. If TRD could build a V8 worth a damn, we might not be in this lawn mower engine HP package. He also glosses over that TRD got to run the new Camry nose way before it was released as a street car. But, hey, technicalities, right Rev? TRD failed miserably at F1. They then tucked tail and went after NASCAR. They've done very well, you know after stealing Dodge's design for an engine and spending untold amounts of $$$. Now Rev is mad that Chevy spent a little on the Camaro. Here, have a hankerchief.

TRD never raced in F1. Your post has 0 credibility. Nice try. Do some research.
The one that needs to do research is yourself. I think you have been sucking on too many Toyota tailpipes

Panasonic Toyota Racing was a Formula One team owned by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation and based in Cologne, Germany. Toyota announced their plans to participate in Formula One in 1999, and after extensive testing with their initial car, dubbed the TF101, the team made their debut in 2002.[1] The new team grew from Toyota's long-standing Toyota Motorsport GmbH organisation, which had previously competed in the World Rally Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Despite a point in their first-ever race,[2] Toyota never won a Grand Prix, their best finish being 2nd position, which they achieved five times.[3][4][5]

Toyota drew criticism for their lack of success, as they never managed to win a Grand Prix with one of the sport's biggest budgets along with being the world's largest car manufacturer.[6][7] Toyota was a well-funded team, but despite this, strong results had never been consistent.[8]

On 4 November 2009, Toyota announced its immediate withdrawal from Formula One, ending the team's involvement in the sport after eight consecutive seasons.

You are embarrassing yourselves. TRD USA is responsible for racing programs here. TRD Japan supports racing there. Toyota GmbH which is now Toyota Gazoo Racing GmbH is responsible for Toyota's racing elsewhere. TRD USA and Toyota Gazoo Racing GmbH don't have anything to do with each other really. TRD USA (which is Toyota NASCAR) had 0 to do with the F1 program. Additionally, the F1 pull out had nothing to do with TRD USA going into NASCAR.

Nobody cares. A yota is a yota, doesn't look like there was a TRD when they tried their hands at F-1 and failed miserably.

What the hell are you talking about? TRD existed then. You don't understand this, so I will allow you to gracefully exit, and get back to your Chickie Nuggies. They are getting cold.

I think that drivers and crew chiefs are so unique in the ways that they communicate. For example, Gabehart and Hamlin are actually awesome to listen to. Gabehart relays SMT data on other drivers and Hamilin's lines. Super technical and pretty cool. Really analytical, but they do get kind of emotional from time to time. Gabehart is a pretty good cheerleader. Small and Truex can be hard to listen to. When MTJ gets stressed, he whines....badly. I don't think he is really complaining as much as people think....I just think that is his way of processing stress. Small cusses like a sailor. KFB relays a ton of info, and then bitches almost the whole race. Beshore is quite a bit like Adam actually. Bell and Adam are pretty straight forward. Bell never loses his ****, and Adam is pretty positive, but not too much of a cheerleader. Hard to read too much into radio transmissions, but again, I think Chase and Alan are just fine.

Nice deflect. You say something completely erroneous (I didn't say stupid, but I could have), and then you say nobody cares. Just walk away. Out of your lane.

Being as though this is a Chase Elliott thread, nobody cares. The reality is that Chase Elliott led the second most laps in the final race, with Larson leading the most, and Chevrolet won the manufacturers title and the Cup. ;) Deflect that.

Out of your lane. Wonder if NASCAR has a special NextGen build for Chevy. Might need to get one. ChevyNextNextGen.

Yeah, as I said before, I wish I listened to them more. Dr. Unc probably has better insight here as to what the communication style is like
