The Clash

The inaugural event was great even if I thought the main was a bit lacking - I thought the highlight was Ty Dillon being a menace in the LCQ - but it seems to me the concept will be most successful if it’s rotated pretty frequently. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Clash winds up being international within the next few years.

Outside of the United States.
It could, but I don't see it happening. I read where many U.S. cities inquired and they said some were from Canada and Mexico. There was plenty of interest, but they decided to go back to right in the middle of the U.S.'s second largest city to their largest market.

You said to attract the younger generation. Dre and cube started their careers together in the same group and neither put out new music anymore. Honestly I would say cube would be better known with the younger generation due to his acting.
I would think if newer fans were listening to older hip hop they’d be listening to NWA which Cube and Dre were apart of. Dre has had a hand in newer talent’s career as well, plus Dre like Cube is highly known in LA. I don’t think it’s that an off the wall choice

The refs often suck because of what the competition committee dictates.
I don't agree with that. I don't hear a week of what is wrong with the NFL after each game or set of games. What was the postscript to last year's Super Bowl? It wasn't that the way the champion is decided is bull**** or that the venue was wrong.

Don’t really get the venue part as a football playing field is standard across the board. It doesn’t race differently like unique tracks or play differently like unique baseball stadiums.

And if the Bengals won it 100% would’ve had controversy centered on Tee Higgins’ TD where he mugged Jalen Ramsey.

The NFL told Washington they got screwed at the end of the game this past Sunday night and it’s just like whatever, happens every week at this point. Nothing changes despite the outcry.

MLB, NBA, CFB, F1, IndyCar all have their own major issues too. Ask IndyCar fans how well Roger Penske’s been winning them over recently. 🤷‍♂️

So is your point that all sports' fans bitch like NASCAR's?

NBA fans have been complaining a lot, lots of sports experts don’t like the direction the NFL is headed. The MLB is greedy for a league that doesn’t have any stars much.

I hope the Clash stays at the LA Coliseum for a while. I thought the race was a success.

Not a fan of the Firecracker 400, Brickyard 400 traditions being messed with though. As well as Auto Club getting torn up.

I think this year's race will tell us if it comes back again. It easy to get people to show up the first year, the second year is the true test. For my own personal reasons I think the race would be better ran elsewhere, but that's not my decision

NFL fans bitch about officiating. All sports fans do.

They don’t bitch about the games being on Amazon Prime, or exhibition games, or international games.

NASCAR fans don’t want the sport to succeed. They would rather be “right.”

As for the IndyCar example, the series has become devoid of excitement since Roger Penske took over. It’s seriously not entertaining right now.

I guess you haven’t seen much on Reddit the past few years about complaining haha

I showcase the Clash sticker I got at the Coliseum last year loud and proud on my Slotcar box door. 😃

I don't think any nascar fan wishes for failure, but nascar themselves have admitted that in an attempt to attract new fans they alienated a large portion of the long time fans. It's seems like things are starting to swing back that way again.

Ditch the silly playoff format. I’d settle for that.

Yeah, NASCAR's deliberately trying to alienate traditionalists for new fans with gimmicks such as returning to North Wilkesboro, making Martinsville the Semifinal race, pursuing a return to Rockingham, a likely return to Nashville Fairgrounds, adding a dirt race, converting Auto Club Speedway to a short track, two dates at Darlington including the Southern 500 on Labor Day Weekend, two days at Atlanta, and keeping two dates at Martinsville.

All of these things were unthinkable in the Brian France era.

I think it’s too late

If the real fans are bitching then I wonder about these experiments.
"The Real Fans" bitch about everything.

E. V. E. R. Y. T. H. I. N. G.

They could put everyone in 1984 Monte Carlos and race at North Wilkesboro and Bristol all year and the fans would bitch about how they need to race at Michigan and Texas eight times a year.

Hell, fans sat here and bitched about Road America replacing Chicagoland Speedway, despite bitching about Chicagoland for years until the track produced one good finish, and how Road America was boring. And now they want Road America back on the schedule because apparently everyone is going to be shot at going around Chicago like the scene in The Phantom Menace when the Tusken Raiders are shooting at the podracers.

Fans want all the races to be shown on Fox and NBC OTA like they were "back in the day" when, in those days, the races were actually mostly on ESPN (cable), TNN (cable), TBS (cable), SETN (PPV), and occasionally on ABC and CBS.

You left out Benny Parsons.

They have still jacked the Firecracker 400 @ Daytona to August during Hurricane season, there is 2 Atlanta SS races and a total of 6 “plate races” instead of 5, the Brickyard 400 oval is not back yet, the Auto Club Speedway short track could be cool but I prefer the 2.0 mile.

Still a lot of things they mess around with too much besides moving the finale around.

I wouldn’t mind a return to Chicagoland Speedway after this deal is with Chicago Street.

I’m not interested in fake road courses. If they want road courses then there are options at real road courses. Rovals aren’t road courses.

"During hurricane season." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So a race that is rained out basically every year should continue to be run on that date because Daytona Beach might get hit by a hurricane in September? Most of the hurricanes that are supposed to hit the Daytona Beach area slip into the gulf stream, ride up the coast and North Carolina instead. Hurricane Ian was a literally unprecedented disaster. And I'm sure, if the Coke/Pepsi/Firecracker 400 was facing the threat of a hurricane, it would get moved.

The Brickyard 400 is another perfect example of fans not knowing what they want. How many years did the majority of fans, myself included TBH, say that race was boring and didn't watch? How many years did fans talk about wanting that race to be run on the road course instead?

The "plate races" get the highest ratings and fans have been wanting more of them until they got more of them.

Fans hated Auto Club Speedway and wanted it taken off the schedule until the reconfiguration announcement.

We're two years away from fans claiming Texas was the best race of the year because of that one good finish between Jeff Burton and Matt Kenseth like 15 years and three generations of racecar ago.
