St. Petersburg.......The race!!

I was travelling and attending a talk given by Merle Bettenhausen here in Michigan, so I couldn't sit in front of the TV. But I did see a good chunk of the race on my phone as well as listening to it on the way in. The presentor was futzing around with his powerpoint when Grosjean and McLaughlin got together; man what a moment that was. Wild, wild event.

Maybe today wasn't Grosjean's fault, but how many silly scrapes should a veteran driver have every year?

Grosjean has been in a lot of these scrapes and it's to the point where we sortakinda should be expecting him to be hyper aggressive. It was even his MO in F1 if we're being honest with ourselves.

As many times as Grosjean had ruined other people's races aggression might not be the right word.

If looking like a marshmallow my wife was trying to cook for smores didn't fix his perception of risk/reward...
That's why he's not at Haas anymore. Gene Hass said he wasn't going to pay Grosjean to kill himself.

Look, I don't hate the guy. He's good looking and articulate. The fans seem to love him, and if he wants to keep risking it, that's his decision. It's not his decision to endanger everyone else though.

From Racer.com
"Once the purchases and repair bills are in, the Andretti team could be looking at an opening weekend that produced $700,000 in damage. Andretti affiliate team Meyer Shank Racing, which makes use of Andretti Technologies’ engineering support for its two entries, was singing a similar tune"
