The last running of The Roval, for now. Kind of a shame because I actually enjoyed the variety of the schedules in the last couple of years.
Was a great race to attend with last gen cars. With new car it’s a horrible race, and ticket sales are showing it. Tix in my favorite section were usually sold out by May or June, but this year they’re cheaper and more readily available. The fans have spoken I guess. Sadly I’m skipping unless I get a heck of a deal or offer. Club Deck dropped from $200 to $160, and I still think it’s way too much.

Sadly I couldn’t see the “Are you not entertained?” standing out of the car while rolling due to smoke.

Has this been confirmed? I keep hearing it, it's been heavily rumored, and hope it's true.

I am actually fine with six road courses, but Charlotte and Indianapolis did not need to be among them. Give me Road America back.

Agreed 100% with idea, but I actually want fewer road courses until we get this car running well on them. And if we’re going to have a road course in California that doesn’t suit these cars at all, why couldn’t it be Laguna Seca over Sonoma? Would love to see these beasts tumble down the carousel… I think both Dale Jr Download and DBC said Charlotte was back to two ovals next year, but don’t know if it’s official yet.

If we drop a road course my pick be COTA personally, the Roval is unique and very NASCAR. COTA is an F1 track first.

Sonoma is the worst road course on the schedule, but it's also owned by Speedway Motorsports.

Six is the right number, IMO. Maybe even seven. Only because some of the markets NASCAR wants to get into will require racing road courses or street courses.

NASCAR should stay at Watkins Glen and Austin, and should definitely return to Road America (which won't happen as long as Chicago is on the schedule). Laguna Seca would be better than Sonoma, plus it has more history.

I have a feeling staying in the Los Angeles market is going to require some cute ****, whether it's the Coliseum, a street race, or, and this is a longshot that gets my vote, going to Willow Springs. I don't think the Fontana reconfiguration thing is gonna happen.

This ****box car gotta go though. I don't understand how NASCAR can watch the Xfinity Series weekly and continue to insist on ramming this piece of **** down our throats.

COTA is an internationally renowned track, and a very good one at that. F1 and NASCAR both put on good racing there.

**** the Roval.

Everyone literally bitched about all the turn 1 incidents constantly. It's too big and too spread out give me the roval.

Just need to change the restart zone. Give them less time to get up to speed before they have to jam the brakes.

We don't have this problem at Watkins Glen where they don't have time to get up to speed before the 90 degree turn.

Putting a tire barrier up in turn one at COTA would help too.

I know Chicago had single-file restarts, but notice how having actual course limits that couldn't be abused without consequence cut down on the shenanigans.

I think that generally fans are clueless about how to watch a road course race. NASCAR is consumed with the beating and banging....and then bitching about it for a week. This is different. Qualify up front....manage the race. If somebody is faster, they will find a way around. By its very definition, this cannot be side by side all day. The Royal is technical. I like that. Should be fascinating to see if MTJ can find some magic--he hasn't been great here. Reddick will not be in kill mode....he will manage the race to advance. The 11 has been fast all year on road courses....he has nothing to lose.....wondering if he might win this....Bubba will finish well I think, but unless he backs in, I don't see him winning.....I. have been wondering if Ty sneaks in, and steals one from the Playoff guys....Damn, I can't wait!

The Roval is too small. Fake ass bull**** ****** track.

The flaws of that track are REALLY exposed with the NextGen car.

What we NEED is the type of road course show that Elliott and Truex were putting on at The Glen when we had the old car. Typical NASCAR deal. They get one part fairly right, (Mile and halfs) and completely screw up the racing on EVERY other kind of track. I would expect noting less from them.

Schedule is out and I'll be damned the Roval is still on it. So much for Dale Jr being an insider!
ASR still at Wilkesboro for it's only date. Richmond is Easter night? Ok...

Just because it's on there now doesn't mean it can't change. If Sunday's race sucks and Chase Elliott doesn't win, Marcus Smith could easily decide to just go back to the oval.

We know this car is crap on road courses. But if it's a boring race and Chase Elliott wins, the majority of the fanbase will want to keep it.

Sounds like you have the CAD drawings all ready for presentation. Go ahead....I'm listening.

I will argue that the car is very very good on road courses, and that's what disappoints some about the racing. If could ever just get them driving like dump trucks again, then we would be in business? NASCAR brought back stage yellows, so we can get some of that rubbing is racing BS. I actually enjoy a race like Sonoma. Martin was better all weekend, and won the race. This just in....If somebody had been faster, they might have won the race. Racing happens.

It’s too underpowered for road courses and short tracks. Its hard to run down cars because it’s harder to make up a couple tenths here and there with corner entry-exit being a little too easy.

I’ve been to the Roval and very much enjoy Turn 1 seats, seeing the racing on the infield and out to the backstretch is awesome. The track needs some modifications though, getting rid of that last chicane would go a long way to making a smoother lap

Since the venue would be on the calendar either way it would’ve been nice just to see how this weekend unfolds before determining oval or roval for next year. If it had a second co seductive stinker, it would probably be a good time to flip the switch.

Pockrass said the theory is the Roval increases demand for 600 tickets since it’s the only opportunity to see the oval now. Kinda curious about that. The 600 has also just generally been an improved race with this car so it would figure that demand would increase.

I just finished watching a replay of the Roval race where Harvick nailed Elliott, and later Harvick wrecked himself when Elliott had hunted him back down. Larson smacked Hamlin out of the way to take the lead to hold on and finish first, and B+ nailed Byron in the ass and Byron came back and was hunting down Reddick when Byron wrecked himself trying to get to Reddick's back bumper. I don't know what the hell you people are talking about frankly, get help.
