In race trim you could probably hit 230 on the straights but the corners would be tough. The drafts would be insane, Michigan had huge runs on a 2 mile with lower banking. Add almost an extra mile and 9° more banking and you’d get some ridiculous speeds towards the tri-ovalThe published numbers were 228 with an average of 216.309. Rusty says (which might not be true) that he actually came by the start finish line doing 241 with an average of 238. The tires just wouldn't stay on the car.
