Of course Sophie was targeted after her tweet asking people to stop throwing sex toys on the court. She laughed it off, and I'm not a prude at all, but yeah, this isn't cool. It needs to stop.

Someone needs to explain that trade to me. Granted that my mind isn't as sharp in my old age but still...............
Yeah, I really don't understand this trade at all from Washington's point of view. I'm really surprised that they gave up on Aaliyah Edwards that quickly, and for another guard when they already have Sonia Citron and also have Georgia Amoore waiting in the wings.

I know they lost Sykes, which is definitely a big loss for them, but Jacy certainly doesn't fill that void. And unlike most of you on here, I have nothing against Jacy in saying that - that's just my honest opinion.

Yes, Washington also gained the right to swap 2026 first-round picks with Connecticut, but those respective picks came from New York and Minnesota, so that'll likely be a wash.

I don't get it. Looks to me like Connecticut just pulled off one heck of a heist.

Good draft picks can come from anywhere, so I get that.

Angel Reese, who is going to go down as one of the greatest defensive players in the history of women's basketball, wasn't a top-five draft pick.

True, but the pick swap is likely pointless considering that NY and Minnesota are, barring some catastrophic injury situation, likely headed to a Finals rematch. (Connecticut and Washington each have one of those picks - not sure who has which one.)

Looks that way but anything is possible. Indiana could beat Minnesota and, when Caitlin is healthy, they have curbstomped New York.

But with Minnesota getting DiJonai Carrington (great player, even if she is the dirtiest player in sports), I don't see them losing another game ever again.

The wild card is Minnseota picking up DiJonai Carrington, who is a great player even if she is the dirtiest player in sports.
Sure, but my point is, unless I'm completely missing something, neither of those picks are likely to be high first round picks and should likely be around the same number.

I believe the draft is based on a team's performance over the past two seasons. Minnesota and NY made the Finals last year and are likely headed there again.

The trade makes no sense to me from Washington's point of view.

It's still an additional pick, plus we know the offseason is going to be pure chaos when the new CBA is done. It looks to me like Washington, Dallas and a couple other teams are getting ahead of that.

No, it's not an additional pick. Washington and Connecticut each have, and still have, one of those two aforementioned picks from Minnesota and NY. Washington simply earned the right to swap their pick in question with Connecticut's.

Correct, if Washington was getting an additional pick then I "may" understand the trade, but there is no additional pick for the Mystics.

Geez, another 10:00 pm game tonight. This old man has a hard time with the late games, but I sure hate to miss a game with the Fever playing.

Right. Unless there's some kind of hidden voodoo witchcraft involved that I'm unaware of, and Connecticut's pick from NY originally came from Dallas or Chicago or something and is likely to be an early first-round pick, the trade is pretty much just Aaliyah Edwards for Jacy Sheldon.

We'll see how they play, but on paper, that's not a good trade for Washington IMO. It's very good for Connecticut.

I take it you don't have League Pass? If not, you should, so you can watch those games on your time, not the W's. You can hide the scores in the WNBA app to avoid spoilers if that's a concern. You could just do that and stay off the forum until you watch the game.

Can't win 'em all. Phoenix is a very good team that has also beaten both Minnesota and NY this season.

Shout-out to AT, who has been absolutely tearing it up lately. She became the first ever WNBA player to record three straight triple-doubles in that game against Indiana. She's phenomenal.

How's your mood, fellow Fever fans?

If it's good, it's about to be bad.

Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald are done for the season.

Oof. Do they even have any point guards left? If not, they'll have to see if they can grab somebody on a hardship contract.

Fortunately, their next game is against Chicago so there's no urgency.

Chloe Bibby is probably about to spend A LOT of time on the court.

Really, the front office has some tough decisions here. Do they make trades or make moves to try to salvage the season or salvage what they can before Caitlin can come back, or do they just tank like Dallas is doing?

Truthfully, as someone who has said Caitlin needs to be deactivated for the remainder of the season, I'd go with tanking.

Aari McDonald is a HUGE loss.

Tanking is unnecessary IMO, but somebody obviously has to play PG while Caitlin is out and all the other PGs are hurt (what a wild situation for a team to be in). That's not a small task. If they don't pick anyone up on a hardship contract or something, I'd imagine that Kelsey will be running the point until CC comes back.

No. Mitchell and Cunningham can share primary ballhandler duties in the interim, but that obviously isn’t the role that suits them best. But any route you choose at this point is some form of compromise.

Also, the last thing they need is for Clark to come back and have to play 38-40 minutes per game because they have zero PG depth left. It’s just a nightmare scenario and there is no happy ending in sight for this season.

They'll have to sign someone on a hardship contract. I mean, I don't see a choice here.

Kelsey, Lexie and Sophie don't move the ball the way Caitlin and Aari do. Though I imagine Lexie will be in the starting five against Chicago.

Everyone's going to have to step up moreso than they have. Aari McDonald is a huge loss.

I know conventional wisdom is going to say Odyssey Sims, but I'd be looking at Zia Cooke.

She's got something to prove after how Seattle and Washington did her.

Yes, I do have League Pass, but I like to watch the games live.

Even when they come on so late that it's hard to stay up for them? :lol2:

LOL, to each their own. I'm the opposite and don't have to see things happen live anymore. I catch stuff when I feel like catching it.

Yeah, obviously none of Indiana's healthy guards right now are PGs like CC and Aari. That's not their responsibility...or at least, it wasn't until now.

Ehh, they just have to get through the Chicago game and then pick somebody up. I'm not familiar with Zia Cooke beyond her name, but Odyssey Sims is a good veteran PG. I'd definitely go for her if she's available.
