WNBA 2025

And just like that, Chicago is back in the game.

Kelsey Mitchell just gave me a scare. FOUR defenders hit her and she looked injured for a second.

Yeah, obviously none of Indiana's healthy guards right now are PGs like CC and Aari. That's not their responsibility...or at least, it wasn't until now.

Ehh, they just have to get through the Chicago game and then pick somebody up. I'm not familiar with Zia Cooke beyond her name, but Odyssey Sims is a good veteran PG. I'd definitely go for her if she's available.
Kudos, good call!

Thanks. It was an easy one, both for me and surely for Indiana.

There still aren't enough spots in this league, and plenty of good players slip through the cracks. Odyssey Sims has somehow become the emergency PG for teams dealing with injury problems at that position. How she is not currently signed to a regular contract on a roster is beyond my comprehension. She's a vet who is still very much a baller and has stepped in and played well on her various hardship contracts.

Maybe Indiana will sign her long term.

It’s time to start the Kelsey Mitchell MVP conversation.
For sure Kelsey is in the top 3 as MVP this year, and I would put her in the top 2.

From a news post:

The biggest bit of news, though, also involved Mitchell. After Saturday’s 26-point outburst, the three-time All-Star now leads the entire WNBA in total points this season (637). The locker room erupted in cheers after hearing the big news.

This is an undeniably massive achievement for Mitchell, who currently leads the Fever in scoring with 19.9 points per contest. She still trails Napheesa Collier (23.5) and A’ja Wilson (21.8) in terms of average points per game, but the fact that Mitchell has played in more games — she’s suited up in all 32 of Indiana’s contests so far this season — allowed her to become the current scoring leader in the entire league for total points.

Sonia is a cute one.

Kelsey Plum absolutely should be suspended and this isn't the first time she did this. She knocked Lexie Hull down and then kicked her when she was down.

Another dirty player.
Dang Kels, this the UFC? We throwin' leg kicks now?

On the other hand, the deal with Lexie looked pretty innocent to me. I think Lexie was trying to take a charge. Kelsey then tried to step over her like Allen Iverson stepped over Tyronn Lue in the 2001 NBA Finals, LOL. Lexie was getting up as Kelsey was trying to step over her, and Kelsey stumbled/tripped over her. No harm there IMO.

The two of them were smiling at one another during a "staredown" at a different point in the game, so I don't think there's any bad blood there. :lol2:

Plumdawg isn't a dirty player IMO, she's just super competitive. She's one of those players who you love if she's on your team and hate if she's playing against your team. I've always liked her and her competitive fire.

This 10-minute video that I was directed to during a different video was well worth my time and hits close to home. After watching this, I understand where Kelsey's fire comes from and have a whole new respect for her. If she wasn't on my ever-growing favorites list before, she is now. Heed the warning - this does indeed get dark at one point.

Early in the season I stated that the 4 players I didn't like were Carrington, Plum, Mabrey, and Reese.

Reese I don't like because of her personality and attitude.

I don't like the other 3 due to how they play the game. Excuses may be made for them but I think all 3 are dirty players that don't care if they injure an opposing player.

Muggle, I'm not making excuses for anybody - I simply have an opinion that differs from yours, and that's fine. You and I certainly don't have to agree on favorite players or on anything whatsoever with regard to basketball, but please consider watching that Kelsey Plum clip when you get some time. I think everyone here should watch it. It changed my perspective on her. The young lady's been through some stuff.

Sonia Citrion continues to impress me.

Just a super-efficient player who elevates her team.

I know there's no ROTY debate and it will be Paige Bueckers no matter what, but there should be. Sonia Citrion is a better player.

Minus that Aaliyah Edwards trade the other day, I love everything Washington is doing right now. They're trying to build something, and they're doing it the harder and IMO better long term way, through the draft. I very much prefer that approach over the short term, win ASAP superteam approach.

I really like those rookies.

Some of these guys on social media, man...always with the us vs. them, one or the other, choose or die. Can't praise a player without tearing down another. SMH.

I don't think it's about cutting Paige Bueckers down as much as it is just calling the league out.

I'm not going to say Paige should receive the hack-a-Caitlin treatment, but I don't think she should be treated any differently from every other rookie before her not named Caitlin Clark.

Oh, for some like Syd's nose plug there, I think it's all about tearing another player down, judging by the video choice.

Some people seemingly can't enjoy a sport without having a foil, even if they have to just conjure one up out of thin air. That's wild to me. Just cheer for your favorite(s). Why is that so hard?

They’re called rivalries.

And can you imagine if the league was inflating Caitlin’s stats?

Chloe has 8 points but has only been in 7 minutes.

Maybe she should stay in longer. But Stephanie white is smarter than I am.

And Caitlin needs to hurry up and get healthy.

Oh well, that L hurt. Fever ball still must see TV.

Real tough loss. The injuries have added up and, unless Stephanie White makes some serious changes, this team might not win again until Caitlin returns.

Watching some highlights now.

I'm not blaming the refs for the loss, I'm just saying: That Paige Bueckers whistle is something else. She straight up shoves Sophie and gets the foul. Announcers were even like WTF on that call.

17 down with 6 minutes to play is hard to overcome..hayed to see this losss, a win would have really helped them.
Wow, looking at the box score, they couldn't have come any closer to overcoming it, literally. Tough loss for them, but credit where credit's due. Nice road win for Dallas.

Glad to see that Maddy Siegrist, who made one of my All-Star ballots, is back from her injury. Looks like she played well, too, as did my girl Li Yueru, who scored 20 points in less than 27 minutes! Let's go, Li! ❤️

Yeah, the reckless closeout call early in the game that some folks elsewhere are complaining about was the right call IMO, but I probably would have challenged the call you're talking about.

I’m referring to when Paige shoved Sophie then got the call.

Paige was flopping all night. It’s what she does. And why not? She gets the calls her way most of the time. And when she doesn’t get the call, she gets a give me a minute later.

I know Caitlin flops too and I wish she would stop. Especially because she should know by now that she’s not getting the call so she might as well focus on the game. That whistle is reserved for Bueckers and Wilson.
